New Mexico State having trouble signing P-5's to play because the P-5's don't want the smoke.

Yeah, nothing quite says scary matchup to bluebloods like the third place team in the friggin WAC. All those recent NCAA tournament wins… I can see why Kansas and Kentucky would be worried 03-lmfao

KINGALLISON is referencing the weekly discussion with the NMSU AD.

According to our AD, the Aggie coaching staff is having a hard time getting a P5 program to schedule NMSU. Our scheduling coordinator has contacted just about every P5 program but as of now, everyone is reluctant to take the risk of playing NMSU.

AD Moccia equate their reluctance to a ROCKY movie quote... Apollo Creed's trainer: "He's all wrong for us, baby. I saw you beat that man like I saw no man get beat before and the man kept coming after you. Now we don't need that kind of man in our life."

Right now, NMSU is waiting to see if a P5 game opportunity opens up due to scheduling conflicts. I guess we will see.

Yet again, you know nothing. Jans has beaten several P5’s through the years. And a bunch of near misses against USC, Kansas and Auburn. Do your homework before you pop off.

Which statement I made was inaccurate? Did NMSU not just finish third in a weak conference? Have they won an ncaa tournament game more recently than 1993?

Near misses. Shiver me timbers.

Not inaccurate but incomplete. You are quick to point out that NMSU finished 3rd on the WAC this past season; glossing over the fact that NMSU has been dominant in the WAC the last 10-15 years. Yet, you acknowledge Kentucky blue blood prominence without pointing out they finished 7th in the SEC last season with a LOSING record. You pick and choose your facts to suit your needs simply to be an irritant. Stop being obtuse.

Thanks Pistol. Wanted to say something similar. Not a NMSU fan, but no one can deny they are one of the best mid-major programs out there. Well, no sane person can deny it.

Him being a SHSU fan, I want to know where he gets the cajones to question NMSU's basketball success when most WAC (SHSU) fans would would do back flips to go to the NCAA tournament as many time as NMSU has done, win as many games their own home court as NMSU has done, and as many number of 20-plus winning seasons as NMSU has posted over the years. NMSU even has one Final Four performance in its history; that's better than most mid-majors.

Jans has assembled a formidable Aggie team for this coming season and has set the bar high for any WAC program who has dreams of making an NCAA tournament bid next spring. With NMSU playing in 12 of the last 15 WAC Tournament Championship games (all of the years NMSU spent in the WAC), the road to a WAC Championship definitely goes through Las Cruces, NM... until proven otherwise.

Are Aggie fans arrogant about their NMSU basketball program? Yes, most are with some reason. But also many of us Aggie fans have seen a lot good basketball played by our program and by others we have competed against over the years. Aggie fans know where our main competition is coming from in the WAC. And, most will acknowledge when a rival basketball program has gotten the better of us; as GCU did last season. Right now, as of today (this current school year), only ACU has a leg to stand on with their NCAA Tournament performance this past season; a reason to thump their own chest. The rest can pound sand when it comes to what NMSU has and hasn't done in college basketball. And, to any WAC fan who wants to question NMSU's recent basketball performance or past history, I say... "put up or shut up!"
“Until proven otherwise” ya like last year when NMSU went 7-6 in conference play?

Basically what I’m hearing is NMSU is SFA without the tournament success.
