Just thinking out loud... Mark Ingram was an assistant AD at UT during the same time Steve Forbes was an assistant (to Bruce Pearl) basketball coach.

if that's the case there is no way he is coming to UAB

Just as Eshan "wasn't going anywhere"

Yup. SMH at those that thought he should get another year because of the cancellations. This whole season was borrowed time for Ehsan.

I didn’t think he should have gotten another year, I thought that was the excuse that would be used to keep from paying a second years buyout.

I’m still shocked that we did the right thing and got rid of the boat anchor.

I'm shocked we were allowed to do the right thing. UAB being told we can not fire a bad coach is almost expected at this point.

Wasn't directed at you. I know where you stand. Really appreciate your and Jay's efforts here.
There’s some now pumping up the difficulty of playing in our conference. Citing the CBI and CIT appearances from our conference mates in previous years as legitimate postseason teams, like it gives us good notoriety in basketball world. They ignore that there are .333 win percentage teams paying to play in those tournaments as well.

They try to make it seem like expecting to win cusa on a regular basis is asking for sweet 16s and elite 8s, when really all I care about is simply winning cusa. Whether it be regular season with a good resume for at-large bid or winning conference tournament. We should be doing that and getting decent wins out of conference on regular basis and no matter how hard they try to fight that thought, it truly is not that hard to do. Shouldn’t be at UAB, anyways.
I’m excited about then direction we are about to take and i like our top three. I’m good with them.
Give us the top three.01-lauramac2

Idk why people make posts like that, then not say anything till we hire someone and act like they knew all along

A certain number have to be interviewed, per policy, I'm sure. But I guess that there is only one serious candidate at this point. His staff is very likely already assembled.

Is this for men's basketball coach or dance coach?

Free the Golden Girls!
I saw somebody on Twitter mention Antoine Pettway for the UAB job.

Hell to the NO. Enough with the Bammers, m'kay? They rarely work out well at UAB.
Even bammers wish they’d quit retaining him as an assistant. does well in state recruiting, what else does he do?

That Anthony Grant firing looks real good for them with what he’s doing at Dayton. 03-lmfao Should’ve been happy with NIT bids for that time being.

It’s the same token black coach mention, from folks in this state. There’s black coaches in this state coaching HS basketball that would be dang good college coaches and would coach circles around some guys that we are considering to hire and/or we compete against. Richie Riley is arguably better than who’s on our fan wish list.

Yeah, guy that got fired from an SEC west program that doesn't consistently get to the NCAA, then went back to alma mater and elevated their program. Sounds pretty damn good.

Wasn't that long ago that Dayton and UAB were pretty comparable programs. We can be again.
Dayton stepped up and paid him $1.2 mil a year. He’ll probably get particular incentives in spite of tournament cancellation. Will probably make coach Clark money from there next year if he isn’t hired away. Why the heck would you leave now, though? Gonzaga and San Diego State are some great examples of sustained success if he remains at Dayton.
On cue.... https://t.co/cnvQI8AcXr?amp=1

We hand away $1.6 million over 4 years, yet he’s the one that deserves better.

Won 5 of last 7 games, most in the middle pod.

Remember that time we fired Davis and he went 9-7 in cusa?

I’m sick of everytime we make a choice of termination that we get the pity party article, but they don’t do the same for the other coaches at other universities in this state.

No matter, what we do or want. There’s still always something published that has us in the wrong. We can’t expect more, just have to accept our place at the bottom of the totem pole and hope that something just magically makes us relevant over time.

I will, now. That’s off my mind.
Rick Pitino is returning to college basketball.
