I feel like TJ clevelands name has been floated out there at every hire we've had since Davis left lol

I think I am fine with Andy kennedy, but I hope UAB really does their due diligence on this. maybe that has been going on behind the scenes already for weeks..
I want TJ for the style of play but Andy is a blazer ,,,I am fine with both

1) I wouldn't want another 1st time head coach and 2) the style of play that caused opposition problems years ago is standard fare nowadays and is far less effective.

How many teams do you actually see running a fastest 40 minutes style of basketball these days? Not many. What you said isn’t true. It would also still be effective IMO. That false message is way overhyped here. I think people try to use it to soften the blow of Anderson leaving us so many years ago...
All I ask for....

Proven track record
Wants to be here
Will bust it recruiting
Has a vision beyond CUSA
can we score over 70 points every game and can we have guys who can shoot the 3 and be able to beat the press
I look forward to #TheReturn of UAB basketball.
He should have NEVER been hired...I mentioned Steve Forbes (30 wins this season) on this board last time and a bunch of millennials with no basketball IQ cried, "We have to keep the team together!" (I remember you)...nobody in the country would have hired Ehsan and he was allowed to run our once proud program into the ground...Ehsan had nothing going for him especially ZERO head coaching experience...this hire will be more difficult because of where we are as a program...we could do MUCH worse than Andy if he'll even give us a listen...
I’ve already apologized for my stupidity.

This. Really got under my skin that Rob was touting having the 4th most wins in CUSA as if that's something to be proud of.

You think this hire was brought on by millennials?
Without looking, I assume this makes Ehsan the only coach in history to end the season with a win?

I doubt we could afford Forbes

Forbes is currently making 650,000 at ETSU. Yes he is going to make more at his next gig. Can't hurt to talk to the guy. Will probably take 900,000- 1 mil to get him out of there. We've paid that for a far worse coach than Forbes has proven to be.

The 1988-89 UAB team ended the season with a win over Michigan St. in the consolation game of the NIT. Gene Bartow was the coach. Andy Kennedy was on the team.

Aside from ETSU being in a much better position than UAB, Forbes has his eyes on a P5 job (and they have their eyes on him)...

Yep, and we have a new practice facility on the way that he can sell in recruiting.
We won the consolation game twice in the NIT finishing with a win. The women also finished post season with a win once.

I like Forbes but he would be out of here (IMHO) so fast it would make your head swim when a P5 came calling. There are two guys I know that would be willing to stay here for a long time and have a good vision for the program and both will be interviewed.

The one and done has crossed my mind.
