30% Already have ACCN
37% YES, willing to switch
10% Maybe willing to switch
22% NOT willing to switch

(What's wrong with you 22%?)

Also worth noting, among Comcast subscribers it's about 505/50, but among Charter/Spectrum subscribers over 90% say they'll switch providers if they don't get the ACCN.

Those 22% also still have a land line

Probably the older generation that don’t feel comfortable changing their service. My mom is the same way but I think she is now at her breaking point. And yes, she does have a land line.
The Clemson AD is tweeting that Spectrum is now on the bus. That’s a big step forward, especially for me since that’s my carrier, but really for the ACC since Spectrum is, I believe, the second biggest carrier in the U.S.

From Greenville (SC) News online:

Quote:Spectrum cable, one of the major television providers in the Upstate, has reached an agreement to carry the fledgling ACC Network.

Dan Radakovich, Clemson's athletic director, revealed the agreement on his official Twitter account Wednesday afternoon.

Probably no need for concern, but Radakovich deleted the tweet.

DRad using his enthusiastic jumping the gun to leak information to fans instead of piss off NCAA investigators .... that's an improvement.

It is almost unfair the ACC has John Wildhack in their hip pocket...he knows all the tricks. Spectrum was never in doubt

Comcast is the one that will be the holdout. Cox I'm not sure. Dish I figure has to negotiate within 7-10 days or they will start to lose customers.

Anybody know just how many customers Spectrum has?

last info I got was 16 million.
This deal probably increases SECN revenues as well.

16.6 million. They are the second largest cable company and third largest multichannel video programming distributor (MVPD) in the US. Comcast remains the big fish at 21 million. Even without Comcast or Dish, the ACCN has now reached around 50% clearance in the US.
I think this puts them over the tipping point that this has been a very good move by the conference

The devil is in the details...gotta find out what the net will be.

Dish will come real soon...then it is just Comcast and Cox.
So Awful Announcing projects that, tiers pending, this puts the ACC at 36m homes. SEC at 59M and B1G at 55M.

Something doesn't seem to add up with that, as Comcast has 20M and Dish has 10M. It doesn't make sense that landing those two would put it ahead of the SECN because isn't the SECN on everywhere?

That said, the SECN's 59M might not have included Altice, which they actually weren't on (one of the few) until the last deal.

But if you assume the premise "SECN has universal carriage" then these numbers are sketchy somewhere.

When I researched it I came up with 16 (now 32) million ACCN subs - NOT including all of the small ones listed on the FAQ page. I suppose it's plausible that all of those combined add up to 4 million... maybe the SECN hasn't gone after small carriers?

Maybe.

DirecTV, Spectrum, Verizon, Altice, Hulu Live, Youtube TV and PS Vue collectively have around 47 million video subs. Clearly there are tiers offered that do not feature specialty sports channels, however, its not clear to me how popular those are. It's only $10/mo more on DirecTV, for instance, to get from the most basic tier to the tier with specialty sports channels. That said, to the extent SECN does have deals with all major and mid major distributors and still only has 59 million subs, it is probably due to tier placement by some carriers. From another angle, when Comcast and Dish are landed, the ACCN should be right where the SECN and BTN are in terms of subscribers.

I've read that the deals that the conference networks have made with carriers provide that at least 80% of the customer base must receive the conference network. That allows the carriers to sell a low cost, very basic package to its most cost conscious customers. That means that Spectrum signing a deal with the ACC doesn't mean that all of Spectrum's customers will get the ACC network. That would also be why SECN's total seem to be less than what you get by adding all the customers of all the carriers they've signed contracts with. Of course, that 80% number may or may not be what is specified for ACCN. That percentage may have been one of the items bargained over.

That makes sense. So the 59M for the SECN is actual subscriptions, while the 36M for the ACCN is "available" subscriptions (the final number still TBD)...?
