Watching ESPN's Monday Night Baseball Game of the Week (Braves at Nats) and saw a commercial promo'ing the GT-Clemson ACCN FB opener. Nice!
Interesting possibility moving forward...

...DirecTV (owned by AT&T) and DISH are open to a merger and believe it would pass regulatory scrutiny...

If Sirius and XM can merge (as they did), then I think this would as well.

That couldn't happen before 8/22/19.

I don't think it would pass regulatory scrutiny. I'm about as free market as they come and I see this as just another borg like assimilation step for AT&T. Their M.O. -- going back several generations and several trust busting attempts -- is to unilaterally dominate the market and then start raising margins and lessening services.

Duh. Of course not.

Maybe so. That's why I threw the Sirius and XM merger as an example that is very similar in nature. We'll see. Maybe nothing to it. I do find it interesting that they've lost an estimated 2+ million of cord cutters if you believe that estimate in the story.
I'm surprised the stream of press releases from the ACC and ESPN have come to a nearly complete stop.

There has been two announcements today although they're not likely to matter that much. There's going to be an all access series for Notre Dame women's basketball. There will also be either a show or a series on "Notre Dame traditions."

I keep expecting that they'll let us know who the announcers will be for men's basketball games on the ACCN and release the ACCN schedule for the non-conference men's basketball games.
..........waiting until the last minute, maybe???!?03-confused
Some of the non-conference MBB schedules haven’t even been released yet
FWIW, I went to the WatchESPN page and chose >Schedule & Replays>Upcoming and then scrolled forward to Aug 22 and beyond (currently today thru Aug 30th available) to see if there are any ACCN schedules available. So far, none are showing. I'm guessing that will be loaded as we get closer to launch date, now at 20 days.

I did see one minor thing when doing that search. The logo for ACC Network Extra has been re-designed.

It used to look like this...

They announced that the Notre Dame-Louisville women's basketball game will be on ACCN on 2/16. That will be one of the biggest, if not the biggest, ACC regular season women's games this year.

BTW, I wonder if the ACCN could do shows on basketball and football recruiting. I know the schools can't talk about recruits until after the player signs. Would the ACCN under the same restriction because it's part owned by a conference?

It is listed on this release also.

From a page that ESPN put up today:
"... [B]eginning on August 22, upon launch of ACCN, ACCNX on the ESPN App will only be available to subscribers with access to ACCN through their pay TV providers. ..."
https://espnpressroom.com/us/press-relea...16835433=1

Looks like there won't be any option to subscribe directly to the ACC Network. You'll have to go through a carrier. By the way, I think that ACCNX means ACC Network Extra.

That's correct. What this means is that if your provider doesn't offer ACCN, then you won't be able to have access to ACCNX...meaning, no Olympic sports access that are normally carried via ACCNX (and the occasional MBB or FB games).

That is real nice, definite upgrade.
They’ve announced the list of FB games that will only be on ACCNX.
9/7
Western Carolina at NC State, 12:30 PM
Richmond at Boston College, 12:30 PM
North Carolina A&T at Duke, 3:00 PM
Eastern Kentucky at Louisville, 4:00 PM

9/14
The Citadel at Georgia Tech, 9:30 AM

https://awfulannouncing.com/espn/espn-ac...twork.html

Is that Citadel game being played in Europe or do they have the time wrong?

To paraphrase Chris Rock...."not likely to matter to whom"? :)

It's not even accurate. The Citadel at GT game has already been designated for Regional Sports Networks so it will be on TV. The kickoff is scheduled for 12:30pmET in Atlanta.

The times listed must be Pacific time zone because Richmond-BC is a 3:30pm kickoff at Chestnut Hill.

Now that I look at it, those have to be Pacific Times. I know the Duke game is at 6:00. God only knows why they would use Pacific Times for ACC games.
