I say big deal. It should switch to football heavy content tomorrow. They were trying to appeal to lots of schools and lots of sports on the opening night.

Besides, for the providers that have not signed up yet, we will need those basketball fans in November to help try for another round of putting pressure on the carriers.
Look folks, let’s take a moment and acknowledge that the ACC HQ delivered on that long awaited conference channel for the ACC and enjoy it for a night. Yea, I’m not thrilled with all the basketball coverage either, but at least the channel is now live, got national coverage/carriage as well as carriage within our conference footprint. We are making progress. 04-cheers
I think the network has best coverage in the North Carolina area, in contrast it seems Florida has the worst coverage. This is probably a good strategy to lead off with Duke and Carolina.

Agreed. Also, let's hope that UL-Monroe at FSU, Miami at UNC, Bethune-Cookman at Miami, and FSU at Virginia also ends up being a good strategy to increase that coverage in Florida.
Which DirecTV package has the ACCN? We're on Choice, which has the SECN, but the ACCN hasn't come on yet.

I don't know the official answer. All I can tell you is that I'm on Choice Xtra Classic in Easley, SC and I am receiving it.

Are you just not seeing it in your guide, or do you also not receive it when you manually type in channel 612?

Just got off the phone with customer service. They said it's on the voice package and above in selected zip codes and didnt have a date when it would be available. I told them they had 3 days to get it.

I don't know how accurate this is, but someone posted on a DIRECTV board that they had to add the Sports Pack to get it because they do not live in an area within the ACC footprint. They were able to get the Sports Pack for free for 3 months, but I'm not sure I like the fact that it requires the Sports Pack outside of the footprint. I hope that is not accurate.

They offered that to me. We're in Alabama, so just outside the footprint. I've been wanting to swiswitch to hulu for a while so I'll do that this weekend.
I have no idea what DirecTV package I have, but I was pleasantly surprised to see it pop up on my guide when it went live, after checking to see which channel it would be all week, and seeing nothing there.

ACCN is 612, right next to SECN at 611, and Big Ten Network at 610. That's the neighborhood I want to be in, and it's amazing we finally got there, after all these years waiting for it.

My package gets all 3 of these channels, so that must be the sports package. I DON'T get all the Fox regional channels (that was one level up) or ESPN Classic (or whatever it's called now) or Longhorn Network.

As far as the Duke Hoops show, I found it interesting, probably because I knew in the end the Cardinals took them down. That helped. That class DID save Coach K's a$s.

There's lots of football on the channel later -- 2009 ACC Championship - Clemson - Ga Tech; 2019 - Clemson - Alabama ... Plus Packer and Durham from 7 - 10 am.

I live in Indy but I had DirectTv prior to them being bought by AT&T. I have the premium level which has all the sports channels.
ACC Network not working on ESPN app with Charter or DirecTV login

I have DirectTV and live in Houston. I get the SEC network but looks like I have to special order the ACC network

I'll switch to Hulu before I do that

Well, they could have did an all access to Clemson football since they are the only football program that is making major noise. And then, they pivot to a game show in the vein of Jeopardy. All the answers can be in the from of question regarding the upcoming football season. For instance, "What is the possibility that NC will win more than 4 games". Or, FSU for a $1000... "What is can FSU get back to being FSU". Or, U of L for $600..... "How bad a shape did Petrino leave UofL football program". State for $200...."The weakest schedule to date".

It really isn't that hard to understand that there isn't a ton of great football news in the ACC right now. There are a ton of questions that need to be answered.

The new conference network needed to spend the first night going through each school in the conference. Not a status of the football program at each but more of a get to know each school.

As it is our new conference network did what everyone expected. They gave Duke and basketball center stage while making the new network look like nothing more than a recruiting tool for the Blue Devils basketball program.

Personally if I was paying extra for this crap I wouldn’t be happy.

Ya, maybe an hour long intro show for each school highlighting national championships
Fortunately Packer and Durham is a good watch. They spread the wealth pretty good. I assume they are simulcast with the SiriusXM Ch. 371 still.
The legacy TWC account problem on Spectrum is going to cripple the ACCN if it isn't fixed. People who had service from Time Warner Cable (TWC) when it was bought out by Spectrum can't receive ACCN without converting to a Spectrum account which takes what may be a lengthy phone call to Spectrum and possibly require upgraded equipment. It probably won't cost any more money but people don't know that and aren't going to make the call.

Spectrum is the dominant carrier in the heart of ACC country. As things stand now, the majority of people in the heart of ACC country can't get ACCN. We're talking about millions of ACC fans. This isn't just NC. It's all up and down the East coast.

Spectrum's lack of preparation for this mess suggests that this wasn't something they planned but it's hard to be sure. Could they have negotiated with Disney in bad faith, never intending to give ACCN to people with legacy TWC accounts unless they went to considerable trouble?

If higher level Spectrum employees weren't aware of this problem earlier, they certainly must be by now. Are the ACC and ESPN leadership aware of the problem? They're not acting like it. They have yet to put out a press release. I waste time reading message boards for various ACC schools. This issue is coming up over much of the ACC.

Thats brutal!

Smart business for Spectrum though as their new packages are more expensive than legacy TWC

You're assuming the new packages are more expensive. From what I'm hearing, that's generally not the case. My new plan is $20 a month LESS.

Here's the first news media piece I've seen on the problem. Expect a lot more. They need to be asking pointed questions of Spectrum, ESPN and the ACC.

Yeah Packer and Durham is a good watch. I like what has been on the network so far.
