Saw that DJ Durkin is now a "consultant" at Alabama. Just another solid reason to want to see them lose.
One shoe that may yet drop is if a major "name" college coach were to make the jump from the college ranks for a NFL job. Jim Harbaugh at Michigan or Lincoln Riley at Oklahoma. (Riley's name is the hot one right now...)

If either of those two were to jump after the season's done, could create some reshuffling.
Lol, re: Lincoln Reilly, people just love youth (can you blame them? Look at Sean McVey. But damn, Reilly was being talked about for our opening just two years ago.

Yep. Nice that he over saw such a toxic program that a kid died. You go Nick Saban! *******.

Michigan and Oklahoma are stepping stone programs.
Akron hires Tom Arth from Tennessee-Chattanooga who had a record of 9-13 there. Before that he was the head coach at John Carroll in Cleveland, taking them to a National Semi-final in Division III.

Looks like we're relatively safe, in that our coordinators won't be leaving for any HC jobs, and would have to be paid a ton to leave us for a lateral positional move now...as for the position coaches, that could be a different story.

There’s usually a couple moves after the bowl games

There will undoubtedly be assistant positions to be filled as these new changes assemble their staffs.
Houston head coach Major Applewhite’s future with the Cougars is in doubt after UH’s record book-worthy, 70-14 loss to Army in the Armed Forces Bowl capped an 8-5 season, sources confirmed to SB Nation.

The game tied the FBS records for points allowed in a bowl game and margin of victory in a bowl.

Upon Applewhite’s hiring, both UH Board of Regents chairman Tilman Fertita and president Renu Khator famously stated, “We’ll fire coaches at 8-4.”

Since then, the former Texas assistant is 15-10 in two full seasons at Houston, plus a loss as interim while replacing Tom Herman in the preceding year.

Additionally, offensive coordinator Kendal Briles is expected to leave for Florida State, per multiple sources.

The Cougars fired defensive coordinator Mark D’Onofrio in November, and a replacement has not been named.

Houston will also enter 2019 without potential No. 1 draft pick Ed Oliver, the highest-rated signee in program history. Oliver and Applewhite had a brief public spat in November amid an injury for the star defensive tackle.
Sounds like a great stop for Tommy T.
I'm thinking they could dump him and give Briles the reins...would be a smart move. Applewhite obviously doesnt have it.

They'll have to provide a deluxe nap room with a juice and yogurt bar to gain his interest.

Didn't Briles leave for Florida State?

But seriously, they should have fired Applewhite already. If there was ever a case for the AD to meet the team as they went out to the busses and tell the Coach he's done (like happened to Kiffin at USC), it would be this one. If Houston can't argue for "Firing with Cause" then nobody really can.

I'm glad that UC's big donors don't have this kind of presence, at least publicly (not including Doss, of course). They may as well rename it University of Fertitta.

I don't know. I like their commitment to excellence personally.
