Middle Tennessee has quietly had a nice year on the hardwood. They went 28-4 and were ranked 25th in the AP prior to the selections (28th Net rating). Of course, being a G5 school, that 25th ranking only got them an 11 seed.

I hope we look into scheduling them in the future. Seems like a home & home would help out both schools.

MTSU has a nice women's basketball history. If memory serves, they went on a nice run in the Sun Belt in the late 2000s after LTU dropped off. Louisiana Tech's teams were unreal in the late 90s, early 2000s.

If a couple teams leave the Sun Belt (Texas State and Georgia State), I would be pretty excited about adding back MTSU and WKU if we could swing it not just for football but across a few sports.
Speaking of MTSU - it's amazing how little Kozlova played for them. She's really been a difference maker for us. She may be the "toughest" athlete in our entire Men's and Women's athletic program.
Boldyreva was sitting on the bench the entire time I watched a MTSU game, so......either she was sick, hurt, or in foul trouble the whole time.

Agree.

And an 11 seed for MTSU is an insult, but totally in keeping with the P5 domination on the selection committee. Hope they make some noise in the tournament.

Totally agree, though I do wish we could get her to stop dribbling down low and simply go up for a shot. She puts it on the floor and gets swarmed.
Middle Tennessee has been good for a very long time.

Have made ncaa or nit 19 non-covid years in a row with 13 of those ncaa tourney appearances
I kind of hoped Coach was at least looking at Nylah Young, the CAA POY out of Hampton, who's in the portal. She looked pretty good to me. But then, what do I know?

Has she signed with anyone? I’m certain there’s still a spot on the roster if she’s interested in JMU.
Depends on whether she is in the portal with an "open" or "closed" contact designation. She may already have a couple schools in mind and isn't willing to be recruited fully again. Or maybe she's just taking her time. We still have one scholarship open I think.

Yeah, I learned yesterday that she signed with Wm & Mary. Must have been for the academics, couldn't have been for the basketball. /s
Picked up a transfer from St. Joe’s, Olivia Mullins who averaged 8.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and three assists per game last season.

The wife saw a post today (I forgot to ask her from where) that said that Kadidia Torue is going to transfer. Hope it is incorrect as I really liked watching her this past season.

Wow-That's too bad. O'Regan was really talking her up in an interview after the season ended. He almost sounded apologetic that he couldn't find more playing time for her and spoke of her being a big part of their plans for next season.
I'm really sad and surprised to see this. Like Brian, I loved watching her play and was looking forward to seeing more of her strengths next year. There was no hint of this talked about at the WBB banquet on Wednesday night - Coach was talking her up and excited about what she could contribute next year.

I wish her the best and hope she finds a school where her talents will be appreciated.
Wow, I hate that. She was really coming along so nicely.
I saw last night on Twitter where Cooach O has signed another PG named Olivia Mullins to help Chloe develop, but now I can't find the tweet. She's from somewhere up north (UMass? BC?) and is a 5'8 senior. Sounds a lot like Germond. Can someone help? Raoul is way behind the curve. He doesn't even have Ashanti Barnes listed.

Speaking of which, I do know of another post player available who is in the portal out of Iowa State and possibly looking for a place nearer home. She's a 6'2 So. F/C named Maggie Vick and is from Morristown, TN. The reason I know her is that her mom used to be my doctor.
