Oooooo, so close 03-lmfao

Update: OK, it's fine to complain now. 6 ERs in 4 IPs isn't getting done. Unfortunately, Stephenson's overall struggles are probably even more concerning though. (Of course scoring more than 1 through 6 would be helpful too, but I digress.) As for BA, he was actually looking OK through 3 and 2/3 but the pitcher hit a seeing eye grounder up the middle to get a run home and it was wham, bam after that before he could get that final out. I'm rooting for the guy (and I'd gladly attend a story time with Bronson hour), but the odds that he lasts the season in the rotation are very low. Heck I'd say the odds he's on the active roster all year are probably under 50/50.
Does anyone think BA could be effective in the bullpen once we get one of the injured starters back.
I do. He could be the long re-leaver that can give you 3 or 4 innings.
Very small sample, but not a bad start. The bullpen has a chance to be pretty good. Votto is a star. Cozart and Peraza could be well above average at their positions this year. Hamilton, Suarez, and Duvall seem to be major league caliber. Don't have much of a read on the other outfielders yet or the catching situation. Starting pitching looks like the big question mark for this year. If they struggle, could go as expected. If they surprise, reds could be around 500 or a bit better.
I'll enjoy anytime the Redlegs take 2 of 3 at Cardinal Busch. Doesn't happen very often.
what milestone is there for doughy votto to make an appearance? pujols number 600?
Gotta say this bullpen has looked legit. I know it's early but it's hard not to get excited for the future. If we can get above .500 this year it will be a success. I have alooked been very impressed with Price's decision making in regards to taking pitchers out and inserting relievers in. Lorenzen and Duvall get my MVP vote so far for this team.

One big factor is that the Pirates, Brewers, and Cardinals have all looked pretty bad this year so far. I think the Pirates are where the Reds were in 2014-2015. The Brewers are bad, and the Cardinals look to be on the downswing. Going to be a lot of opportunities to beat these teams this year (and the next couple).

The Cubs are what they are, the best team in baseball. Probably won't beat them much.

The bullpen and offense has been fantastic. Starting pitching has been a bit shaky outside a few starts but that's to be expected with two rookies, a second year guy, 34 year old, and a 40 year old in the rotation.

There's going to some down parts to the season, but there is some young talent there. Hope they can reach their potential.
Optimistic about the rest of the season, especially since Votto is nowhere near his potential so far

Can you imagine what the Cubs' record is going to be this year if the other 4 teams in their division are either rebuilding or are on a downswing. Holy Cow!
7-2 with the best run differential in the MLB. Best team in all of baseball. Spring is here, and so are the reds, lets enjoy it while it lasts.
Batting practice Arroyo strikes again. Dude had a 13.50 ERA coming in. I know, I know. Injuries...

Is it too soon to call up one of the young guns ? How long can the Arroyo experiment last? The guy tops out at 85, and is practically teeing up some of thes guys.

LOL...Yeah, I'd be tempted to give a young gun a shot. Honestly offer Arroyo a coaching position as I like his veteran presence and think he can turn into a good coach. But his pitching days are over. I know the Reds can't sustain this, but maybe it will be a funner ride than expected, so lets not sabotage it too much with frequent Arroyo starts.
If now is not the time to give a young guy a shot then when the hell is? I think I read Groschen saying Sal Romano is the likely starter on Sunday. How long has that guy been floundering in the minors?
