A not-insignificant stat.
Really important that we took at least 2 this weekend because I don't know how many chances we're going to have at sure-fire regional/top 50 teams. ULL and LaTech are both two that I think will be there by year's end. Xavier is top 50 now, but I don't think that lasts.

Rice is down. FAU has a solid club and has gotten off to a solid start but their RPI isn't great currently because of a weak OOC. Charlotte has looked good early and is top 50 right now, but that's the only team we don't play in conference play, which is a tough break. As for midweek games, Tulane looks terrible and USA isn't nearly as good as what some thought they'd be. Out of the SEC, State is probably a bubble team. We already played Bama, who will struggle to break .500. You do have Ole Miss twice though, which is a top 15-25 team.

I have that concern, as well. Xavier's RPI will tumble as they move into conference play even if they play well.

We will see. The conference surprised me last year but more teams did well outside of conference last year, so we all bumped up one another's RPIs. ODU could very well be Top 50.

You forget about ODU? They are 14-4, RPI in the 60s, and they play us, Rice, LT, Charlotte, UAB, and both FLA schools. I think CUSA can send anywhere between 3 and 6 teams to a regional this year.
Probably gonna be 3 regional teams from CUSA, though I'd be happy to be wrong and it be more.
You guys are right, I did forget about ODU. They're about to finish off a sweep of Rice. We get them and FAU in Hattiesburg, so would be nice if those 2 can keep winning.

I also think we'll get 3. USM, Tech, and 1 of ODU/FAU. 4 teams if someone else gets hot in Biloxi.
We are in a good position in conference. And it's a reload year for us.
Very favorable schedule for us. We host the better teams (ODU, UAB, FAU) and play @ the lesser teams (WKU, Rice, MTSU, and UTSA). Pretty crazy how bad Rice seems this year. Just got swept by ODU.
Settled at 33 overnight, LATech is 32. They're still too early- Bethune Cookman is 34. That won't last.
I think if we beat LT today then we'll move into the mid-low 20s.
Xavier has taken first 2 vs Ohio St this weekend and are tied at 1 in game 3. Currently Xavier is 49 and OSU is 60. A win should definitely keep Xavier in top 50.

Edit.....OSU took a 4-1 lead in the top of 7 but Xavier rallies for 1 in the 7th and 2 in the 8th to tie it at 4 going to the 9th.
RPI up to 23. Brought La Tech's top-10 RPI down to 38.

OSU took a 5-4 lead to bottom 9 but Xavier gets a walk off 2R HR for the 6-5 win. Xavier RPI improves to 47
Up to 20 now.
got us at #20 now
Kentucky, Auburn and Missouri all enter DIbaseballs top 25. And Oklahoma. Sec! Sec!

I remember saying how over rated they were last year and got bashed for it. Turns out they were. Cant hide during tournament time. Looking like they will be over rated again. Buts its early, so wil see.

I mean, we're on the cusp, but we aren't there yet. This happening wasn't a shock. We lost our big OOC series against ULL, even if the two we lost were close.

If we sweep this week, we should be in there. Just take it one game at a time and win. Our schedule hasn't been the strongest so far, but our midweek games coming up should help that out, plus some decent conference series.

Win, and we won't have to worry about ranking.
