If conference realignment ignites, JMU would get a G5 invite if it seeks one. Liberty isn't on anyones short list. That's the difference.

Also, as an Independent, are they guaranteed a bowl game if they get 6 wins? I'm not sure.

I hope our Admins have enough courage to never schedule games with a school that hires the disgusting Baylor AD and whose president openly called for shooting Muslims. Liberty represents all of the negative stereotypes of Christians. Sad

Indy's have no bowl affiliations. although I guess that means any bowl could add them if the semantics work out.

I thought NCAA policy was that a school couldn't go FBS without a conference invitation. Thought that's why Liberty was pursuing the Sun Belt. Did that policy change, or am I mistaken?

Meaning theyll have to play a difficult schedule and win in order to get in one and I don't see that happening right away imo.

I don't think it has. From what I heard the. Ncaa didn't want to get into a legal battle with them. Idk anything about them except that they have deep pockets, their a Christian university and we beat them. I imagine they have some pretty powerful, influential people that support them pulling strings.

They got a waiver. I'm wondering if Trump made a call on their behalf. He's buddies with Falwell and the NCAA is not exactly known for their integrity.

I think the last few years there have been more bowl spots than eligible teams. Both Army and UNT were 5-7 and played each other in the Heart of Dallas Bowl. If they reached 6 wins they would have to be picked before those teams regardless of the tie ins. With adding one more team and losing one more bowl there's a better chance of getting left out but still.

They'd be perfect for the Liberty Tax Bowl!
