Who is the FOOL at SB Nation that says MT is not going to a Bowl this year? Geez! I despise SB Nation because they treat MT like the "99 lb. weakling" all the time! 03-banghead No Respect!!!!!!

SB Nation latest bowl predictions has MTSU in New Mexico.

http://www.sbnation.com/college-football...redictions

Those are some great match-ups! 03-puke

HOD:
Idaho vs WKU

Independence:
UTEP vs Akron

NO Bowl:
Tech vs ULL

New Mexico:
Midddle vs New Mexico

Boca Raton:
Memphis vs USM

The only decent one is Southern Miss vs Memphis

Oh god that WKU matchup would be horrendous.

If WKU had the pick and those are the matchups, I'd do Boca or Hawaii.

Exactly. I would go to Dallas, but not to watch WKU play a team that is about to drop back to FCS.
I would still go, but it certainly wouldn't be my first pick (of matchup, the location is fine).
I think WKU will be in either in Boca or New Orleans.....
I'm really hoping for Boca. I'll be at Disney World through the 18th and it'll be pretty easy to just extend the trip to the 21st, drive from Orlando to Boca, and change the return flight.

NT brought 38,000 of those 38,300. UNLV did not travel at all. If we had a B10 opponent they would have brought at least some fans and the name would have drawn out even more NT alumni.

The vast majority of those Tech/Ill fans were local Tech graduates. According to their alumni association more tech graduates live in the DFW region than anywhere else.

Still I think if NT wants to play in the HoD they need to win the conference because the other likely candidates would want that slot also.

So Tech's 5,000 alumni in DFW almost outdrew UNT 300,000?

"5,000 Tech alumni in the Dallas-Fort Worth area"

Your numbers don't tell us anything. Of the 38,330, UNT brought at least 37,000 or 38,000 of them. Of the 31,297, how many did LA Tech bring and how many were fans of the Big 10 school that you played? The difference is that Tech alone likely didn't bring nearly 30,000, even with the advantage of playing a Big 10 school...an advantage that UNT didn't get. Throwing out numbers in order to support a claim without giving the context of the numbers is disingenuous.

I have no clue if UNT will even be eligible, much less what bowl they'll end up in, but let's at least be honest about the figures and admit that UNT will draw significantly more for the HOD than anyone else in CUSA due to our location.
NT probably won't ever get invited to HoD because it brings no money into the area. Everyone just goes home after.

Yes UNT would draw slightly more than anyone, but very mediocre considering there are 300,000k living alumni in the area.

22-24k were Tech fans and Illinois 8-10k. I don't think 6-7k is anywhere close to significant in a 92,000k stadium. UNT has 300,000 local alumni and only manage to draw 38k total attendance. That is something I wouldn't brag about.

You're right. It is not something to brag about. But damnit, you haven't been through what we as NT fans have been through over the past 10-15 years. That was our first bowl after years of losing. Considering our opponent, bringing 36,000+ after years of losing fans is impressive and progress to any die hard NT fan out there. Just let us have it.

WKU - Heart of Dallas - $1,100,000 (payout)... would like to see them beat the B10
UMT - Bahamas - $450,000... isn't the AD from the Bahamas or somewhere close?
ODU - Boca Bowl - $400,000... our wet dream scenario against the American
LT - Hawai'i - $650,00... because they don't want New Orleans/SunBelt maybe?
USM - New Orleans - $500,000... by default. I think they don't want NO either.
UNT - New Mexico - $456,250... awesome turn around by the Mean Green.

Not sure how LT folks feel about New Orleans and playing the SunBelt. What's the consensus?

Considering the Sun Belt is the better conference this season, i'm not sure what the aversion is. Given the C-USA's performance OOC this season, it's difficult to understand why you would want more difficult games giving almost assured losses in Bowl season.

That said, two teams are playing for the NO Bowl and that is USM and La Tech. Assuming they don't pick the Sun Belt champions, you have Troy and Arkansas State as likely match-up's unless one of the Alabama bowls tries to keep Troy in state.

1. Heart of Dallas: MT (or WKU, if they don't lose one)

3. Boca: Western Ky. (or MT, if WKU runs the table)
4. Hawaii: ODU
5. Independence: Southern Miss
6. Bahamas: North Texas

Give me Independence or give me Death! (No NO Bowl)

Rather go to Turlet Bowl:

Advantages of Turlet Bowl over NO Bowl:

*Turlet Bowl is cleaner...
*Turlet Bowl flushes shite, NO Bowl IS shite..
*Turlet Bowl can be disinfected, while NO Bowl stench lingers for years..
*Turlet Bowl provides a function, NO Bowl, well, you get the picture..04-rock

(By the by, grew up 100 mi. from the city of N'Awlins and I LOVE THE CITY, the food, the atmosphere, the people, but I hates me some NO Bowl..04-cheers

I like how so many of you guys (Rice fans included) are counting Rice as an easy win on the road to bowl eligibility.

Well I'm here to tell you that we are now on a *winning streak* and that could carry us all the way to 6-6 and Bowl Paydirt.

Even at 5-7 (I'll admit LaTech does have a decent chance against us) our APR and head-to-head would give us the nod over UTEP.

Rice. Bowl. Extra Teriyaki.

I fully expect Rice to play hard Saturday night, and am NOT looking past them at all. Tech fans are WELL AWARE of the Rice series.

We've played 9 times. We've won 5, you've won 4. Some of our most lopsided wins AND humiliating losses have come against Rice.

Welcome to Ruston, Owls...based on series history, I fully expect one of us to get blown out. 04-cheers
