Ga St needs a Kennesaw St rival too.
LMAO...why pray tell do we need Kennesaw State?

No need, he's just 01-wingedeagle

Please explain why Coastal is such a better pick than Kennesaw State or UWF?

UWF has zero NCAA Division I post-season appearances.

Kennesaw State has zero Division I post-season appearances in football, zero in men's basketball, zero in women's basketball, one in baseball.

Coastal has four NCAA Division I men's basketball appearances, zero in women's, 15 baseball appearances (and won it all after being invited to join) and six FCS playoff appearances.

We're talking an hour here. You really think most of the coaches, admins, and fans want to deal with Florida competition, in conference, so close to their wheelhouse and recruitment base?
It's the rationale for adding Kennesaw St, why dilute and potentially harm a conf member's advantages by adding another school in their backyard?
A pipe dream I could understand is wanting UNF to add football in Jax. They're an established DI school that would be alone in their market and would get us in to FLA. But honestly, at this point, why go into FLA at all if we can all recruit it without a hometeam getting the advantage?

I want to know if FJ sees those schools as peer institutions to USA.

Guess the A10 is kicking itself for being a Philly centered conference with LaSalle and St Josephs and formerly Villanova and Temple. The Sun Belt overwhelms it in TV revenue after all.05-stirthepot Atlanta should be the Sun Belt's Philly, but Benson is too worried about satisfying posters here who think Ga State can elevate its game past its local P5 members. The Sun Belt can learn a few lessons from the A10. Local intense rivalries matter.

So didn't answer question and now is talking about phantom GSU posters. Because none of us have said anything remotely close to that...

Let's see Temple averaged 6,300 a game last year. Villanova 8,100.
Temple is 33-32 in the NCAA Tournament two Final Fours, seven Elite Eight, and 7 Sweet Sixteen. 'Nova is 57-32 with two championships, five Final Fours, 13 Elite Eight, 17 Sweet Sixteen

Kennesaw State averaged 1,300 Georgia State 1,800.

Philly produces excess bb talent. Atlanta produces excess fb talent well beyond the needs of GT and Ga St. Why not use the local talent to energize your own conference to care about your Ga St fb team with local rivalries that local HS gets excited about? Actually build something rather than guarding your turf, when all the time the riches are what we have missed.

Instead the Sun Belt takes in unrelated schools that have little in common and play with Atlanta talent that doesn't care because they are far away from Atlanta. La Tech left because they hated La Monroe, but that doesn't happen elsewhere, and doesn't have to be the example for Ga St. Actually use local rivalries to your advantage. The TV money isn't coming in anyway, so try to maximize attendance.

The SEC and B1G models don't work for the Belt, but yet it still uses those models in expansion. The A10 has a different model, and it has paid off even though it has lost a lot of schools.

You and FJ and David St need to stop playing NCAA Football The SIMS. You cant just make things so by speaking then. LOL. We have 53k students and just bought a MLB stadium that will be a football stadium in 7 months. We have been to a bowl game. We have a $300M development plan rewriting the southern part of downtown. There are actionable things occurring at GSU football wise. We are not afraid about KSU being raised up. I am telling you there is nothing in to tell us that they will rise up. I cannot remember ever seeing a Kennesaw State sweatshirt or bumper sticker. There level of alumni support is approximately where GSU was in 1988 or 1989.Hell, Mercer would be a better bet and has better support.

You must get out to Marietta and beyond.

This board lacks diversity in thought most of the time. Just posters trying to protect their own interests and repress others. Kennesaw St has potential in fb whether posters want to believe it or not. Atlanta doesnt care about FCS, where Kennesaw is now, and doesn't care about the Belt unless it gets elevated in the minds of locals. One way to do that is with local rivalries.

I get way up 75 Chattanooga and South to Savannah , Macon and Cordele. Yes.

Yes to local rivalries...like UAB, Charlotte, and GS

I can promiss you GSU would leave the SBC as soon as KSU joined the SBC the same as GT would leave the ACC if we were admitted.

You see potential while ignoring facts. They have no money...at all. Do not even have a football operations building. Thye converted a receiving dock to use as a weightroom. They cant fill an 8330 seat stadium even when winning 10 games. You could count the games we have played that would fit in their stadium on one hand.

and...

You dont live here.

The Ga St alumni care about its football? Something has to be done to change that. Raising up another program will not be the death of Ga St if interest in the Belt is increased in greater Atlanta.

"I can promise you GSU would leave the SBC"...and go to what conference?

So your pts checkmate Vince Dooley too? Just saying Ga St blocking Kennesaw St makes little sense with regards to Atlanta's allegiances and recruiting potential. Keeping them down wont get Ga St in the ACC.

Nobody is keeping them down except themselves.

And who says we will ever get in the ACC?

Do you know what an analogy is?

I'm sure Kennesaw will join with UND when the WAC restarts FBS football.

Ga St going to the ACC is beyond laughable, but you are pushing for it but deny it. Enough said.
