Congrats Argos. It looks like they're having a good transition to Div II. Of course, but they still aren't getting even the most cursory of looks from the Sun Belt.

UWF would be a strong FCS team; they don't have any base for going to FBS; they are the second smallest full university in the state system, slightly larger than Florida A&M (much larger than the new Florida Poly and New College, a small liberal arts school). They don't have the student base nor the alumni base to work from for FBS. The one thing they have going is that Pensacola is relatively isolated from big time football and there's a lot of civic pride there. But their first step should be to harness that and go to FCS and win there.

Pensacola is not isolated from big time football. South Alabama is 50 minutes away. Florida State is 3 hours to the East and LSU is 3 hours to West. Troy and Auburn are within 3.5 hours to the North.

Compare UWF to the Sun Belt schools.

If it weren't for South Alabama, UWF would basically have the same position South Alabama does - everyone else is at least two hours away.
