we just had our best season in over a decade, top 10 all season and have a brand new arena. can't we get 1 stud?

Is there some secret we dont know, as to why local recruits avoid UC? Are there some burned bridges that occured, and some power players steering these kids away for one reason or the other. Or is it simply a matter of them being more familiar with Mick-ball and them not wanting to play that style?
The biggest recruit we've missed out on locally was Vince Edwards. With him on this year's roster we're probably a lock for the final four.
Edwards has been good for Purdue, however, with Evans and Cumberland there would not have been enough minutes for all of them.

You play your best players, regardless of position. Edward's and Evan's are both capable and of being an undersized stretch 4. You think Edward's would ride the bench while Jennifer is out there airballing layups?
A former Mr. BB in IN and a UC guard (Not O) told me he cannot stand to watch Mick Ball so he does not.

Not to mention that Edwards was a senior this year, so he's a class ahead of Evans.

His. When he announced his visit list we weren’t on it.
Michael Finke from Illinois just opened up as a 5th year transfer. 6-10 big guy, averaged 10 and 5 in the Big 10. Seems like a perfect fit, and allow Brooks and Eli another year of development.

He's going to Grand Canyon...brother plays there.

Any reason why he never got a Cincy offer? Didn’t fit the niche Cincy was looking for or something else at play?

Just seemed odd that a highly ranked player who expressed interest in Cincy in interviews didn’t get an offer but did get offers from programs like Arizona.
Transfer market is hot, hot, hot! I hope the Bearcats can land PG Marcus Carr but the competition will be stiff for his services. It would be hilarious if Cincy could somehow land Evan Boudreaux just to further bask in Xavier's misery.

Outside of the transfer market, stretch four Frankie Policelli is still on the market and was being recruited hard by Cincinnati, I wonder if he is still a take. JUCO guards Brandon Mahan and Wendell Mitchell intrigued me as well.

No real blue-chippers seem to be interested in Cincinnati but there is a good chance we fill out the roster with at least one more quality player. I think if Evans goes pro, we hold onto his scholarship for the 2019 class because I don't think he hires an agent and June 11th (deadline to withdraw name from draft) is a little late in the game barring a Lance Stephenson type situation.
Penny all in on Ashton Haggans. Memphis been to his high school 2x since Penny was hired. Mick hasn't showed up yet. He would LOVE Cincinnati if he ever came visit campus

Mick has said hundreds of times over the years that he doesn't recruit guys who we would have to compete with the "big dogs" for. I know that's asinine, but it's what he says.

Along the Penny lines, saw a post on the conference board that Memphis has already generated $1M in ticket sales after the Penny hire.

Not sure if he will ultimately be successful as a HC, but he is generating a buzz down there and bringing in the $$.

It's so unbelievably disturbing on so many levels. This comment, more than any other he's ever made bothers me more than anything. It just makes absolutely no sense to not even try. Who's to say you can't steal one or two of those type guys every few years if you work hard enough?
