Cincy and ECU to the Big 12 within 1 month of what event?

February 31st.

I hope the P5 stays the P5 and does not become the P4 made up of 16 teams per conference.
SEC could add 2, P12 could add 4, B10 could add 2, ACC could add 2. Which means, the B12 would get picked apart (10 teams exactly) leaving the P4 and existing G5. B12 goes away. Any of our teams hoping for a promotion should hope the new P4 go to 18 teams models or we better get used to our American home for the long haul.
Something tells me the B12 would be a temporary promotion anyway until it gets picked apart just like the Big East did.

Unless Oklahoma and Texas leave, the Big 12 will always be a Power conference, no matter who the other members are.

Would not be shocked to see Texas go to the P12 or B10 and Oklahoma go to the SEC.

Oklahoma State wants to follow Oklahoma to the SEC. The SEC don't want them. There could be politics involved to a point that SEC does not want Oklahoma at all.
Texas leaves, Houston gets in. Then Memphis, Cincinnati, East Carolina and UCF to help get a better tv market. Then maybe Northern Illinois and South Florida to make 16.

It is true that Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are tied together. PAC 12 did not really want Oklahoma State because they don't have the tv market. Plus, they are overlapped with Oklahoma which does not help with tv network contracts. It would not serve the SEC either. THE SEC wants Oklahoma or no one.

ANNOUNCEMENT WILL BE ON a TUESDAY
If I remember right, some guy from Alabama calling himself "Sammy" called into a Memphis sports talk radio show, saying Memphis to the Big East would be announced the next Tuesday. Someone heard it and posted it on the C-USA board. Nobody knew who Sammy was. Of course it didn't happen. The fans of other C-USA schools then rubbed it in on the Memphis fans, and it became a meme on the boards.
I guess Sammy was eventually right, sort of, lol.

On one side you have the expansionistas who want to force the NCAA football power conference into an NFL-lite configuration, with all the trimmings. On the other side you have those who want to see the Big XII crumble, and hopefully see some unwanted school join those on the outside looking in. Every conference must be the same size, and all of 'em must include somebody's prospective candidate, complete with associated advertisements, often repeated. And everyone has their own perfect plan, which gets posted almost daily.
And when I get fed up with it, I tend to get somewhat grumpy about it. It's nothing personal. It's kind of like a volcano. Once the explosion is over, the pressure is off. And thanks to short term memory loss, I can never remember how, who, or why. So it's all good.

Well, if ACC and SEC see BYU and some other G5 schools as strong in football? They see something in them that the Big 12 does not. Oklahoma and Texas really don't care about their conference mates. They won't be the big boss if they go to another conference. Several schools would love to join the Big 12 and don't mind taken less shares.
