i'd add provy to the list. and yeah bc/pitt were mentioned for football......not a single reference to their basketball
Maybe college football should be a separate entity, allow for regional interest and conferences for basketball and Olympic sports.

St John's was in there a lot as well. Nova and PC quite a bit also. The thing was, in the early 80's, that was the Big East. It was a big 4 and really everyone else back then. Maybe BC 5th. UConn wasn't great at that point, Seton Hall wasn't great, Pitt was decent, PC was down until Pitino got there.

You mean "St John's was in there"—period.... The rivalry between Cuse and GTown was focused on too much. Moreover, GTown was given so much credit for making the Big East a legit bball conference....
I liked this 30 for 30. Growing up in friggin' ACC country I didn't see a lot of old school Big East games. It was cool to see the history of the league and the rivalires. The shot at WVU wasn't necessary.

They even addressed that in the doc when the BE told its TV partners that they would have to air Seton Hall/Providence/BC games instead of nothing but SU/Georgetown/St Johns all the time.

Like all 30 for 30s, they were overselling the racial aspect.

At one point they would have you believe that Villanova fans were rampant racists becuase they were making fun of Patrick Ewing for being dumb.

That works for me.

IIRC, John Thompson did not permit any of his players to talk to the media. So that fed into the notion that the Georgetown players were not very intelligent and perhaps even unqualified to attend a prestigious school like Georgetown.

Ironically BC had very good basketball in the '80's and into the '90's with players like John Bagley, Michael Adams, Jay Murphy, Billy Curley, and Dana Barros. Made a bunch of tournaments in those 2 decades, several Sweet 16's and a couple of Elite 8's - one in the '80's and one in the '90's.
