There are a few I was glad to see move on. How anyone can blame Cig for going to the next level at 5 times the money seems a
little absurd to me. How can you blame a 20 year old kid who has been brilliant for us for seeing what he is worth to another team who can afford to pay him. Be mad at the system; not the individuals. Cig will always be one of my favorite JMU coaches and I wish him well. I hope he can change the culture at IU and bring those long suffering fans some pleasure. Lord knows they deserve it.
We all wanted to move up to FBS. This is what you get. Get used to it. G5's are breeding grounds for P5's. FCS is a breeding ground for G5. My hope is there will be plenty of talented yet unproven players available in the Portal who will love to be a part of what JMU is all about. We will be fine. Learn to not be bitter. You can be bitter or you can be better ~ change one little letter and you can change your life.

Lou is lucky he left before the internet era. 03-lmfao

You realize the rules are way different, right? And that most of these guys would be doing the Juice Wells thing anyway after we go 11-1?

Nope. This coach flies back into town today, while our AD is out still searching for new coaches, with a Bag full of NIL $ meeting with our current team, and recruiting them.

How much do some of you drink during the week and how do you afford to do so? Asking for a friend.

I’m drinking egg nog (on sale at Kroger) with cheap rum this week.

Don’t judge me.

Have you considered he probably has to deal with selling a house and moving to Indiana? I doubt he needs to fly to Harrisonburg to meet in person with his former players in order to deal such a deal.

Cig would ALWAYS take the reins during big games (NDSU 2x), App, which is why we lost those games. It was evident to anyone with eyes ( and confirmed by the players) that Shanahan didn't call a play in the App game until the 4th quarter come back.

There are some things that I'm potentially looking forward to with a new coach:
-More swag. Perhaps more uniform combos. But I do think it's important to keep the brand intact.
-More interaction with fans and community. I feel like it took a long time for Cignetti to be comfortable at JMU.

More Swag = return of the purple chrome helmet with Duke Dog. More Duke Dog is always good. Also a brightening of the gold helmets to gold chrome. Many programs get this right while we have a dull chrome dome.

More interaction = a nice to have, but not need to have. If he wants to attend a few more Duke Club events or hang out at the AUBC during basketball games that is great. But don’t sacrifice any football time for recruiting.

I'm looking for a coach that will revive the tradition of calling me on my cell phone before crucial downs.

"I don't know, Mike. It's true that play has worked all game, but I really love a good flea flicker. Just say it with me: fleeeeeea flickerrrrrr. Flea flicker. If you say the words enough, they really lose all meaning."

Let's put the Cignetti stuff to rest and focus on moving forward. No need to have this thread appear at the top of the list anymore. Hopefully we have found a new coach that will lead us to even greater success.

Cuck Figg. A play on words in more than one way. Was never a fan (as my family often heard). He didn’t fit JMU brand of young and innovative coaches.
