The AAC was a market driven expansion that’s why Marshall, Southern Miss and Louisiana Tech were not considered. Probably I should’ve worded it “small market” instead of “delivering a market” since I do believe Marshall delivers the Huntington tv market but it’s not big enough to justify getting invited over UTSA or FAU. I honestly believe East Carolina got lucky back in 2012 and we all remember they only got a football only invite to what was still known as the Big East.
What does an AAC invite have to do with anything I've said. Not once did I mention that Marshall should be in the AAC... NOT ONCE! Marshall is happy with the SBC. I don't understand why the CUSA5 can't grasp that.
The Nile is a river in Egypt. If it makes you happy believing the Sun Belt was your first choice then be my guest. Let me rephrase that. It was your only choice since the AAC went for markets and the MWC is far away. I doubt the MAC wanted to try the “third time is the charm with Marshall” so it was the Sun Belt or bust for Marshall.
So good for you guys that you love your new conference and you better do since you’ll be there for decades.
Okay? I guess? I never said the AAC wasn't our first choice. I never mentioned the AAC at all. I'm still trying to figure out why you are so butt hurt over it.
Yes the AAC would have been nice because of the money and ECU and Memphis. But we knew we didn't fit the profile. Does that make you feel better because I said that? The SBC also has more money, better exposure, better media deal, closer rivals and like minded schools, and no Judy, and blah blah blah. Still wondering why this is a sore spot for you.
Sore spot? Butt hurt? I’m actually happy you’ll be gone on 7/1/22. The SBC3 were a cancer to the conference and it’ll be nice to finally get rid of them. Basketball for once can break the one bid curse that has plagued the conference since 2005-06.
Enjoy the Sun Belt since that’ll be your home for decades.
yeah, not butt hurt at all are you

The best G5, the MWC is in the footprint so that remains a possibility even if it’s a small one. Can’t say the same about Old Dominion, Southern Miss and Marshall. Seriously, what other G5 in your footprint will consider you? The AAC? No. The MAC? It’s an Ohio heavy conference that plays on Tuesdays. C-USA? Your administration won’t make the same mistake again. You’ll be in the Sun Belt for a long long time which is what you wanted in the first place, right?.
In the meantime, UTEP will continue to schedule MWC schools in OOC while they’re members of C-USA. Not bad considering how things turned out.

UTEP has the same chance of getting into the MWC as ODU does the SEC.

Apples to oranges. There’s history there but there’s no room at the inn at the moment. That could change in 5 or 50 years. Who knows but that’s the price UTEP has to pay for the mistake of leaving the WAC for C-USA in 2005.
Now if I wrote the “Pac-12” then your ODU to the SEC analogy would absolutely make more sense.
