It's kinda funny how this thread grew out of near jerk reaction to a story I read. Ironically, my wife was telling me that a similar thing happened in Livingston County here on the east side. Personally, I'm glad the kids are attending school in a different part of the state and getting away from home -- as Charm City Bronco mentioned above.

While the college demographics are not easy to find. Kalamazoo has a white population of 68%, and GR has a white population of 64% and I'd assume GR's metro area is more diverse than the Kzoo "metro" area as well. So GR is more diverse.
