Can't win an argument (since what I reported is obviously correct), so some idiot always resorts to the ol' tried-and-true over-generalized, stereotypical view of a citizenry.

People who live in glass houses should know better..

2 top politicians. The 3rd is accused of sexual assault. You're weak on facts today.

Oh sorry...that makes it MUCH better! 03-lmfao But, I bet they COULD find one more..

I gotta go....Whatta 'bout you, my friend, isn't Kindergarten out for the day?

And what are you calling major sports? Football and Men's Basketball? Because baseball is on the same level as women's basketball.

You should just stop. Really.
Sorry, I forgot to include badmitten, jai alai and debate! 03-lmfao

Any idjit knows what the "major sports" are, and while they include women's basketball, there is no long-term Top 25 to gauge who beat who, and you know that.

Speakin' of who beat who, you really can't give any examples of anyone else beating top 25 teams except babbling off about ONE sweet 16 and Horse...errr Field Hockey.

IF you can show me ODU was ranked #1 in several polls through the years...and the rankings of teams they beat...I will concede Field Hockey and stand erected.

If not, YOU stop and STFU. 04-cheers

We beat #25 Syracuse two months ago.

In Field Hockey? Congrats! 04-cheers

I don't have the time and space to record all the Top 25 wins USM has as a program...but it's like The NY Yankees having more World Series wins than anyone else, YOU DON'T HAVE TO PROVE IT, YOU JUST KNOW IT'S TRUE.03-lmfao

http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketb...=401082788

And I couldn't find field hockey but here's a listing of the times we finished the season in the AP top 25 in women's basketball.

http://collegepollarchive.com/wbasketbal...?TeamID=20

That's 18 times finishing the season ranked. That's good for tied for 15th best in the nation. La Tech is tied for 5th BTW.

So calling someone "out" makes you feel all manly and warm and squiggly inside? Grow up. 03-lmfao

You misinterpreted what I originally "said", and now you're trying to worm outta it.

I may have missed ice hockey, dressage and needle point, but you KNOW I basically meant football, basketball and baseball, where there is a LONG TERM Top 25. You're just pissed like FAU fans that you have no sports history...except Horse Hockey...and you denigrate out of jealousy. 04-cheers

Enjoy your day my friend...

Do you read, or do you just randomly respond to people with random bs and think you are clever? You continue to make it certain that nobody should be taking anything you say seriously... thanks for the laugh today. See ya.

So maybe USMs vote was for SMU?

Quote:USM has done pretty well against Top 25 teams it's entire history in basketball, football, baseball, women's basketball, women's softball, track and field, golf, tiddleywinks etc.. Go USM!!! In fact, more Top 25 wins than all teams in C-USA combined. Sorry..

When some one throws a statement like that they better be ready to backup with facts/numbers. There are some good schools in the conference with good history in various sports and I don't know how some can make an outlandish claim like that with out proof or at least some numbers to throw at the claim. Beaver I know its all in fun but come on show some sense of humility or is that non existent at Southern Miss?

Well, lol, not concerned what you do or not believe. If you don’t believe what beaver and I are saying. Prove us wrong with facts. We will be waiting...

By the way, just in my lifetime, Southern Miss has beaten in football:

*...multiple times
**...once
***...played but not beaten

Alabama*, Auburn*, Arkansas, LSU**, Tennessee***, Texas A & M***, TCU*, Florida***, Florida State*, Georgia*, South Carolina, ***, Virginia Tech**, Penn State***, Oklahoma State*, Illinois*, Cal***, Washington***, Virginia*, Missouri***, Nebraska**, Indiana***, Ole Miss*, Mississippi State* that I have witnessed over the years just off the top of my head.

Good one. Proper grammar is nearly as important as dental hygiene.

Its not our job to prove your outlandish statements wrong. You make an assertation, YOU prove it. It should be easy to shoot us a link with some numbers that you are looking at. Otherwise, you can just say you are pulling this out of your ass because you FEEL like your team has a lot of top 25 wins.

Good luck finding all the info, haha.

I know ODU has defeated 12 Top 25 teams in Men's Hoops, 23 in Women's Hoops (I think it may be more, couldn't find info before the 96-97 season) , 24 in Baseball (7 vs top 10 teams, and I couldn't find info prior to 98), and 1 in Football (we are new to this).

LOL imagine if we include Field Hockey and not to mention Tennis and Golf. Not that these matter to an average college athletics fan.

You do understand the argument, right? If he had said USM has beaten more ranked opponents in football I would have just ridiculed him for bringing up football in a basketball thread.

More top 25 wins among ALL sports (later walked back to major sports) than ALL of the other 13 schools COMBINED.

Here's your football wins against ranked opponents for the years 1989,1990, 1996-2018 (All that were listed on Wikipedia) feel free to fact check.

1989 - FSU #6
1990 - Auburn #15
1990 - Alabama #13
1999 - ECU #16
2000 - TCU #16
2000 - Alabama #15
2003 - TCU #10
2010 - UCF #23
2011 - Houston #7

9 wins in 15 years. A very impressive history, no one denies that.

Just this year between just ODU and WKU in just FB and Basketball there are 3 victories against ranked opponents.

ODU Football - #13 VT
ODU Basketball - #25 Syracuse
WKU Basketball - #15 Wisconsin

So that's a third of those total victories just this year. There is no way in hell you have the number of wins to take on the whole conference when you really only have on sport to lean on. Sure you're good at baseball but that's not going to help because if you bring baseball into it there's no doubt Rice, FAU, LT and a few others would easily be able to outnumber you're good wins in that sport. Probably Rice alone. Men's or Women's basketball? Same story. Single schools will have more top 25 wins than USM. So it comes down to football. Would USM have more top 25 wins in FB than the rest of the schools put together? That's a better question and I don't know. A lot of us have only been playing the sport at all or at the highest level for 10-20 years. So maybe. But there are certainly not enough football wins to outnumber the wins from other sports. USM's overall athletic history is not really all that impressive compared to the rest of the conference. Football carries more weight so you've got that going for you. But overall? Nah.
