Rice wins by 12. 7-0 now in conference and all 7 wins are by double digits. Mulkey with 12 points, 10 rebounds (a career high) and 8 blocks for the 2nd straight game (and 3rd time this season).

What a great defensive effort, limiting UAB to 28% shooting and only 43 points. Rice just knocked off the other two top teams in the conference-- both on the road and both by double digit margins. Roll, ladies, roll!

NT woman got clobbered at MTSU.

MTSU's game stream is the worse that I've ever seen that didn't involve audio or video problems.

Replays with ads after every MTSU score. The announcers were actually good, but why doesn't CUSA demand certain standards on these productions?

Uab ad Utep do the same thing, it drives me nuts.

I watched the 2nd half. Uab simply does not shoot that type percentage at Bartow. The rim at home is usually like a old galvanized washtub.
I thought Rice would be the team to beat before we realized they had a 6 9 girl sitting last year. Yall have some great players and better get ready to shell out some money to keep a coach.

And a Top 50 recruiting class coming in next year, including a couple 4 stars. If Erica O. returns for her final year (she'd likely be a grad student before heading off to med school), we lose only Iadamarco among our starters (along with Rainey and Gigsby off the bench).

CUSA women's basketball update
Mulkey was on the team last year but couldn’t play due to transfer rules. But she was hard to miss coming on the court in street clothes during team time outs.

She’s even harder to miss now.

Her blocks-per-game average of over 4 would lead the nation if the games-played requirement to be listed wasn’t as high.

Hopefully she’ll finally earn CUSA player of the week honors this week. No Rice player has won it yet this season. That said, we’re pretty deep and certainly not just a one-player team, so no one’s really had flashy individual numbers and we take turns stepping up (in part due to where the defenses choose to focus).

Only middle tenn wku or odu players can win those awards.

As long as Mulkey stays healthy, Rice won't lose another game, and has a chance to win a game or two in the Dance.

Watch out for ODU. This new coach is making fast and steady progress to get the Lady Monarchs back into being an NCAA Tournament team. We are likely still a year or two away, but she has recruited several very good young players in her brief time here.

Pretty safe to say WKU women are not repeating this season.....WKU about the 5th best team this season in CUSA, good news they are still pretty young, but it's apparent they need to recruit some more height and get a PG....

See where the Rice WBB team got a vote for Top 25 this week. Congrats. Still think MT's women are in control of their own destiny as seen thru my Blue tinted glasses. Maybe too early to predict the finish; but I expect Rice and MT to be the No. 1 and 2 seeds in the CUSA tourney. And, they will meet again in the Championship game. Just my 2 cents.

RE: CUSA women's basketball update
Rice women eeked out a close win over an ODU team that is going to be pretty darn good by next year. Rice women aren't playing that great on offense right now but they're 9-0, and honestly have a much easier schedule from here out than the other teams close to them in the standings. If they win the two next week on the road at WKU and Marshall, they're going to be the regular season champs.

MTSU is doing well against UAB tonight at home, but I still look at their schedule and think it's going to be tough for them (4 tough road games at Charlotte, ODU, UAB & WKU).

MT beat UAB fairly handily tonight. Tough games coming up but I think we are good enough to sweep.

I think that's accurate, especially considering how badly we beat the formerly 18-3 Blazers.

RE: CUSA women's basketball update
Keep Mulkey out of foul trouble and you won't lose a game.

We should be able to compete with Rice next season.
