I will not blame Martin for wanting a legit opportunity to play on an NCAA Tourney team.
So you think Martin to Ole Miss?
Crawford’s transfer to Ole Miss showed the extent of his dissatisfaction (to put it mildly) over Tubby. He would rather play for the Landsharks (née Black Bears, née Colonel Reb) with little chance of a NCAA Tourney bid than play for Tubby. It was a red flag about Tubby at the time.
I do not know why Crawford choose OM. Perhaps he wanted to be close to family and friends?

RE: 2018 Transfers
Martin will get better offers. Yesterday, I just heard the announcer for SMU/Houston say Martin was the top scorer in the American.
It's about the only good thing about us that gets announced.
Martin gets too much blame when he can't score.
Why stick around for that?

RE: 2018 Transfers
I don't think Martin will graduate in time to transfer after this year and play right away. Sure he can transfer but he'll have to sit out a year. I don't think he'll want to do that. If he does want to transfer and doesn't mind sitting out a year, that's just the final nail in the Tubby fiasco.

Some say he can't graduate and some say he could graduate.
I have no idea which is accurate. But I do know that graduating can be done in two Summer semesters when players put their minds to it.

RE: 2018 Transfers
And we would be o so happy if all our previous transfers took online classes and graduated. NCAA counts that favorable when assessing our APR.

In this case, I see no reason Martin would transfer. I expect Thornton and Nickelberry to do so. Not sure about Enoh. Rhodes done gone.
To play for a tournament team?
Weakest reason there is. Never a sure fire thing. Out of all of our transfers over the past 10 years (22 of them), I only know of 1 who never made an NCAA here but did at his new school (Avery).

Maybe. That's more emotion than logic - which is not a good foundation for an important decision. But it happens.

True, but...
First, he's Memphis through and through.
Second, his history indicates he stays. He's been through 2 mass exoduses already.
Third, like it or not, Tubby and staff have been great for his game. His improvements are substantial.
Fourth, he da man here.
Not counting academics / sit out reason, because I don't know. They say he's not on pace. But things have a way of changing.

Crawford was the same way, a Memphis guy. More so prob bc we were one of the only teams that stuck w him after getting hurt but he was gone anyways. Oh and he would have been the man if he stuck around as well.
Also as far as the tournament thing, the other transfers didn’t transfer out to play for a tournament team . . . I mean it’s obvious by where they went.
