The continued piling on of more and more idiotic ideas to move the goalposts to excite the acolytes of the Church of Settled Science is getting ridiculous.

Keeping the narrative alive.

Quote:So much extra water is being added into the world’s oceans from melting glaciers that the ocean floor is sinking underneath its increasing weight. This ocean floor deformation also means we have miscalculated just how much ocean levels are rising and the problem could be far worse than previously believed.

Over the past 20 years, ocean basins have sunk an average of 0.004 inches per year. This means that the ocean is 0.08 inches deeper than it was two decades ago. While this small fragment of an inch may not seem much, oceans cover 70 percent of our planet, making the problem bigger than it seems at an initial glance.

Keep reading here....

So I guess the ice weighs nothing?

Unless they are saying the ice is melting on land then flowing into the ocean. Still this a weird hypothesis.

lol.....what happens when you put a cube of ice in a glass of water??

the word you're searching for is displacement.....

That HAS to be due to climate change. LOL

When it happened in 1979 the liberals were screaming it was proof that climate change was leading to an ice age.

Wouldnt the sea floor dropping be a good thing? I thought the issue with the polar ice melting is that it would lead to flooding and coastal areas being placed under water. With the sea floor dropping, the ocean levels wont rise because the drop in the sea floor means the oceans can contain more water, and the coast lines will be spared.

The earth has once again healed itself without spending trillions of dollars to do it.

Way to go, Earth!

Well geeze, only 10,000 years ago, a blink of an eye in geological terms, Canada was covered in ice sheets a mile thick. Unfortunately they melted leaving behind millions of Canadian liberals.

Kind of hard to follow you but I guess you didn't follow my post. I was specifically talking about displacement with this comment "So I guess the ice weighs nothing?" There is a question mark at the end for a reason.

I believe that "ocean floor dropping" was an Onion story, though when it comes to the climate hucksters, it's tough to tell them apart.

See there, it's got me confused now.

BTW, I believe it's been well-proven that as ice sheets melt relieving weight on the land masses, they actually rise in response. Not that I give a rat's ass.

you don't understand buoyancy, eh?? I already knew that....

I am not sure how to respond because apparently I can't make you understand we are talking about the same thing.

It is not a big deal but try not to name call so fast next time since my post did not warrant that kind of response.

I'm not all sciencey and stuff, but wouldn't a lower floor mean the levels wouldn't rise as much?
