Blah, blah, blah.

You forgot how us pumping all that carbon into the atmosphere was going to create the next ice age.

When you go back and look over the past 4 decades it’s funny how often it’s the same groups swearing all of these things are scientific fact.

Sydney set an all-time record high today (or yesterday) of 47.3 degrees celsius. That's something like 117 farenheit. It's summer there

Al Gore just needs a better PR person. Global warming isn't working as a catch-phrase. Climate change isn't cutting it either. Maybe extreme weather might work?

The previous high was like a 10th of a degree C cooler and that was in 1939...was that due to global warming or extreme weather in 1939, too?

Utterly meaningless when the records only go back about 100 years.

They could have broken that number countless times in the 16th, 17th or 18th centuries or even 2000 BC, or anywhere in between.

Technically I grew up in La La Land (1977-1986) but have lived in H-Town (Houston) since 1986.

And my apologies, apparently they did find a day in 1939 where it reached 47.8 celsius so it was only the second hottest day in Sydney yesterday since they've been keeping records.

It seems like the only people that have been triggered since I mentioned Sydney is a few of you on the far right. So my post did the trick.

RE: Al Gore Flips Again: ‘Bitter Cold’ Is ‘Exactly What We Should Expect From The Climate
Some of you who are more tuned into climate science or who were adults in the 70's can set me straight if I get this wrong - but the original thought behind global cooling was related to pollution from what I recall. Specifically, soot from factories would impede sunlight and thus cause general cooling. With all of the scrubbers used at factories now, all those smokestacks spew out primarily water vapor and CO2. Ironically, that was the originally done by design. When I was in middle school into high school the big scare that we learned about was not global cooling or warming but acid rain. It was a legitimate concern and I'm glad that was addressed significantly (as well as soot and stack emissions before that).

ETA - almost forgot...can't forget about CFC's causing holes in the ozone. That and acid rain was what I recall as the crises during my time in middle and high school.

Triggered? Nope. Just pointing out the continued idiocy of the claims of hottest days on record.

Every time Al Gore opens his mouth, he just further cements the fact that this is a giant scam designed to grow government.

Not From The Onion: Climate Change Causing The Ocean Floor To Sink Under The Water Weight From Melting Glaciers

Keeping the narrative alive.

Quote:So much extra water is being added into the world’s oceans from melting glaciers that the ocean floor is sinking underneath its increasing weight. This ocean floor deformation also means we have miscalculated just how much ocean levels are rising and the problem could be far worse than previously believed.

Over the past 20 years, ocean basins have sunk an average of 0.004 inches per year. This means that the ocean is 0.08 inches deeper than it was two decades ago. While this small fragment of an inch may not seem much, oceans cover 70 percent of our planet, making the problem bigger than it seems at an initial glance.

So I guess the ice weighs nothing?

Unless they are saying the ice is melting on land then flowing into the ocean. Still this a weird hypothesis.

Good news if it is sinking it can hold more so the coastlines should be ok. :)

In other words, the floor of the ocean will be one foot deeper sometime around the time the sun turns into a red giant. Oh the horror.

.004 inches? Really? A shark could fart and remove more than .004 inches of sediment from the bottom of the ocean.

Im' sure this has nothing to do with the core of the earth cooling over the billions of years, which would cause natural contraction. And despite the fact there's more sea ice now than there has been in previous years, even if the poles were melting, I'm not sure the numbnuts understand that the weight of that melted water is nothing compared to the miles of water already on top of the ocean floor.

Also, how does this weight compare to the time when the earth was covered in ice more than a mile thick everywhere?
