Ok, well that explains it. Maybe we can win. However it’s not good that Nickleberry is likely out because he’s been sick.

It will help that Rivers returns to the line up.

Nickelberry is young and otherwise healthy. I hope for his and the team’s sake that he recovers quickly.

Prediction: Tigers go down by 10 in the first half, battle back, win by 2. Nascar Guy whines that the officials were on our side.

LSU’s leading scorer and top assist man - Tremont Waters - is a 4 star freshman rated 34th best in his class by ESPN. He makes 44.4% of his threes. He is yet another example of the importance of recruiting highly rated players. Fortunately, Martin is a terrfic defender and he will be tasked with guarding Waters. Unfortunately, LSU employs the twin tower strategy by starting 6-11 and 6-10 players. Rebounding is already a problem for us.

Offensive rebounding is a strength. It is Memphis' most successful play on offense, right ahead of drawing a foul.

FINALLY GET TO WATCH A GAME

So we need Martin to carry the load for us offensively, even as he defends and contains their best player. That’s a lot to ask.

There is no reason someone else cannot guard their best player.

Martin gets a lot steals and a few blocks but a great on ball defender he is not...He is a good help defender.

He gets beat off the dribble regularly just like our other guards.

Good players thrive on this. And Martin is a really good player!
