RE: My revised AAC predictions
I hate to redirect the flamethrower in SMU's direction but... there isn't a Shocker on this board that respects Jank's coaching ability. This year will be the first real test of whatever skill he has obtained since leaving the Valley. SMU is a big wildcard in my opinion.

Although clearly the class of this season WSU will not get through with less than 2 maybe 3 losses. They are REALLY good and hopefully a one seed come tourney time.
Road wins are hard in Cincy and Dallas, Philly ain't easy and the total silence in Houston can be deafening. Can they go undefeated at home? Yup, I think so.

I think we all agree more than we disagree (other than a couple of Tulsa trolls). I wouldn't even go so far that "WSU is clearly the class of this season" at this point. Not nearly enough data on several teams to know that. And given what I think we all see as improvement and more depth in the league, being really really good and winning the league is not mutually exclusive with picking up a few losses. And that's a good thing.

Hopefully the AAC can pick up some of the nice opportunities left on the schedule heading in to league play. Then it's time to take the gloves off and see where we are in March.

I don't claim that I don't share some of those thoughts about Jank, though some of our lack or respect was from him putting together the worst schedules in the country where we literally couldn't evaluate his coaching ability.

I've seen SMU play a couple times this year, and they have looked really good for significant stretches. If they get everybody healthy, and McMurray meshes well, they will be a real challenge. They also benefit from a very easy league schedule relative to Cincy and WSU.

So going 17-1 in conference last season with only seven scholarship players wasn’t a real test for Jank?? That is an interesting opinion....

We've already had this debate a couple months ago. Jank was average at best in the MVC with his own players. If he does really well this year then we'll chalk it up to some good schoolin' via Larry Brown.

Because college basketball is 85% hype and the AAC has more hype than the MVC.
