Kevin O'Connor, the guy who does the pod for The Ringer with Verno, says that only 5 teams are projected to have cap space next summer.

Any trade with Marc will have to include bring back contracts. To me, the active player who we get back and his contract is more important than the draft pick.

Exactly. That's why if the Grizz want to move one of those 2 and get a pick in return, we likely have to take on a bad contract. BUT, as long as that bad contract is short term (1-2 years) and less than Mike or Marc's salary, then the upside of getting a high pick might be worth it.

That's why I included Plumlee above. He's a bum, but unless we take on something like that I don't see us getting much in return for Mike or Marc. And if that's the case, then I say just tank this year and try to win next year with both of them healthy and rested with a Top 5-10 pick alongside.

Agree 100%. If taking back Plumlee's last 3 years at $12M per is required, just keep Marc. Try to trade the expirings - Tyreke and Ennis and Brandan. Cut Mario later in the season to give Kobi some run at backup PG. If anyone will take McLemore off our hands, take that in a second.

There is some good news during this losing stretch. Deyonta actually looks like an NBA player now, PER above 15, very comfortable with him backing up Marc.
Chandler looks like he can contribute. Looks like we might have hit on Ivan Rabb and especially Kobi.
