Game Day: @Indiana
Start of a three game road trip, ala NBA vs. IU at 4:30 on BTN and WEMU.
Consensus is that IU is an 8 point favorite.
Here are the game notes. http://iuhoosiers.com/documents/2017/11/23//6_EMU.pdf
Will let Frank provide more info but the team appears to be a good shooting team, but I don't see a dominant rebounder, although they 'rebound by committee.'
They appear to have two bigs who are getting it done: Morgan and Davis. Davis is JT4-sized. Johnson is a good guard.
They have played 5 games, have a 3 - 2 record and only outscored their opponents by 1.2 ppg.
Good team but not a great team. Can be beaten by a very good team or a good team playing a very good game.
Game is worth the price of admission, even for IU fans paying big bucks. JT4 and Minnie vs. Morgan and Davis should be a treat. Training wheels off today for JT4 and Minnie. Playing with the big boys.

I am on my way down for the game. Assembly Hall has always been a bucket list item for me.

RE: Game Day: @Indiana
I should've warned sooner, but be careful on IN-37 past Indianapolis. Major construction on that highway leads to serious backups on game days. It's a Black Friday game against a MAC team, so I dont expect it to be sold out, but if you're driving you should check the traffic before getting on 37.
Our players should have fun with the challenge of Assembly Hall. It holds about 17,000, but the design and acoustics make it feel like MUCH more than that. Though most students are gone for the weekend, so that should help.
Best post-game bars are The Tap and Nick's (a Bloomington must-see, even though I'm not a huge fan myself).

RE: Game Day: @Indiana
Frank, Let's hope the IU players think we are just a directional school and probably mediocre, no height, no speed, no nothing, coming for a payday, etc. etc.
If so, they are in for a big, big shock.
BTW, isn't IU really a 2 - 3 team with Morgan and Davis up front with 3 guards.
As I indicted above, we have JT4 and Minnie to match up very, very well with their bigs. Bond will match with one of their guards.
I'm grabbing at straws but is P.J. the key to the game?

Chad tweeted that we are the 4th tallest team in the nation. Syracuse is #1.

Can I be the first to say it: EMU will look down on IU today.

Since we almost beat Coach Miller at Dayton last season, they won't be looking past us.

That was in 2014-15, but yes, he is familiar with us and won't let IU take lightly.

Three years ago?

But it is the players who play the game and I have no idea what is going through their heads as we await tipoff.

Gonna be a long game if they get entry passes in the post like that consistently.

Well that sucks: Thompson has a foul 14 seconds in.

The big lights seem to have us rattled, especially Paul Jackson. Just looks very indecisive.

Yep. Hopefully we settle down quickly. Bond is in his element, though.

RE: Game Day: @Indiana
Indiana seems like an unselfish team. Lots of extra passes. Minnie and Thompson are too slow to react down low. This is reminding me of every time we play Ball State and they flirt with a 3 second count to make an extra low post pass. It's likely going to be a foul fest.

Right on cue, Minnie makes a great defensive rotation for a steal. What do I know.

Yeah, as I saw Bond chasing down that open dunk, I KNEW he would block. Wasn't shocked at all.
BTN announcers and IU fans were shocked though, haha.

Great move by Davis on Thompson... Not much you can do about that.

Can't wait for the day when they tighten up charge calls, or ban them entirely. They ruin the game.
