There is no "were they thinking this" history tests to pass on your Constitutional rights. It does what it says on the tin.

What line is that? Anyone who goes out with a legally owned weapon and kills someone in cold blood does indeed abuse his 2nd amendment rights. Does that mean my rights should be affected? If you abuse your 1st Amendment rights should I be barred from speaking?

And if you area a convicted felon, you already lose your second amendment rights along with limitations on several other constitutionally protected rights. If you are a convicted felon, other people who are not do not lose their rights to vote or associate or possess a legal firearm, etc.
