For real?

just announced

(the game day schedule said weather permitting)

huh..I did some quick research and found this:

"Having played in marching band, I am fully qualified to answer this question. You don't play in the rain if you can't see the end of your instrument. Not because the rain creates some kind of interference with your ability to play, but if it's coming down that hard, nobody's interested in hearing you play, they're all busy running for cover.

Wind instruments get plenty of water in them anyway, from spit, and many of them have valves for you to let the spit out, if their shape isn't condusive for the spit to rapidly flow out on it's own."

brass are ok

clarinets, bassoons, oboes are wood, the rain could cause splitting

(the double reed guys are hard to play)

Rain and wind. 25-30 mph. And Tiger Lane is a tunnel for wind.

If the current weather does not abate, and you actually did have forty thousand heading to the game, highly possible people would die. Being dramatic but true. That many drivers in a concentrated place with thunderstorms, high winds, and several more inches of rain. Folks were hydroplaning and wrecking all over the place on my drive home.

Not sure those trolling with ideas about being poor fans are timing it right.

Zero issues with moving the game to Sunday or the like. Sure, logistics problems, but beats car wrecks, possible injuries, let alone lightning, which would stop the action, and pneumonia.

More fans and children could attend Sunday than could or will attend tonight in this mire. I have no idea if a Sunday is even possible but the idea is the same.

And yes, was in Jonesboro, was at the Fuente opener and the forty three hundred game.

I can't believe CBS didn't even consider canceling the game.

After seeing Houston flooding, I cannot think that the teams would play in this.

Please be safe everyone!

We don't know all the facts, but to go with this decision is ludicrous

It's not going to dump 50" of rain. It's going to rain A LOT but it won't even be near a record rainfall in Memphis.

There have been much, much worse storms blow up over in Arkansas and then come across the river.

Weather channel says 20-30 MPH winds with between 1 and 2 inches of rain tonight in the Memphis Area. Seems like it would be more like 3-4 inches of rain but even still, it's no longer a hurricane or a tropical depression, its just a series of really strong fronts......
