Game should be pushed back until Sat or until safe from weather - Tigerlabel - 08-28-2017 06:42 AM

You can't play in a tropical depression and hope TV, conference and schools see this and adjust for the safety of all.

The eye of the storm will be in Louisiana on Thursday. It's supposed to be directly over us on Saturday.

Spare us your logic!

I was wondering if we could do something to make college football games less than 4 hours long.

Email CBS Sports executives and talk them into rearranging their TV schedules because might rain.

At that point it's just rain.

It's football.

Game MUST be played this week. The last thing we need is for this to be put off to a later date as we did several years back. We cannot go into UCF game as our first game. Need a home game before that night in order to work out mistakes.

rain = a crowd of maybe 20k...

RE: Game should be pushed back until Sat or until safe from weather - tigernole79 - 08-28-2017 08:22 PM

It will depend on how and when it rains. The last forecast I saw was that we were getting rain that morning and late that night. If that holds true, then we could still have a decent crowd.

Bad day to try and implement the new clear bag policy though. Rain gear is gonna make that one very difficult.

When someone uses the word "WE" , they should be part of the team, administration or actual fan base that attends the games. Someone that just plays on the web all day and never attends a game is not entitled to use the word "WE".

Unless they are royalty

Entitlement over pronouns?

I'd rather have a Tiger who cares about us, no matter how often he attends games, than a non-Tiger who cares about Ole Miss or someone else.

So you don't think we've grown at all.

Be hard to be worse than the opening game of Fuente's first year. Think game was stopped twice for lightning and heavy rains. Sat there with two soaked to the bones kids. Trying to stay dry in the concourse area.

I saw one forecast earlier today which showed it slightly NNE of Houston on Thur evening. Just a few moments ago I saw one which showed the center over southern Arkansas, east of El Dorado at 7pm Thur, which would put rain bands over Memphis. They showed a prediction of 3.36" total rain for Memphis up until that time.

So . . . partly cloudy and a light wind. Don't worry about it. The weather geeks are having such a hissy over this, they can't keep their story straight. They said it was going to meander over the gulf and re-intensify for a couple of days. This is Monday night. "A couple of days" takes us to Wednesday evening at the earliest. I don't imagine it is going to move at 30 or 40 mph and be able to make it into Arkansas and significantly affect Memphis.

Too bad that one wasn't cancelled, LOL.

Lost to UT-freaking-Martin.

They were playing at Auburn a couple of years ago and the TV showed their record against D-1 teams . . . 1-76.

Thankfully, they didn't mention who the 1 was.

We've come a long way since those days thankfully
