Rockin' Ronnie C said the dryer air this morning helped to delay our rain, lessening the impact. He said 4" at max. By tonight, hopefully winds won't be an issue. Lightning will be the biggest concern. It is not fun trying to sit in the stands with lightning - and the delays. So far, so good. Haven't seen any.

Norvell appealed to Bowen strongly to take this late Thursday night game. He wanted it. Good opportunity to show the nation with little competition. And gives an extra day to prep for UCF. Of course, that was pre-Harvey.

I'm under warning at the office. And sirens are going off. I hear there was one in Horn Lake. But has there actually been anything on the ground? I know how they like to play it safe with the warnings and sirens.

First, glad you will be with me at the game.

CBS televises football games in blizzards and below zero temperatures every year. Rain in 70+ degree temps is not that big a deal. We aren't getting what Houston got.

Hope we have a decent crowd, and hope LB staff encourage people to move into the lower seats for TV.

The LB staff hardly ever stops anyone from moving down in football. This is my first season back with the chairbacks though, so that may have changed.

I'm not sure if there has been any confirmed by weather services, but apparently some Sheriff's saw a funnel cloud not long ago, can't remember where.

It didn't during the UT Martin game in 2012. The beer lady had my debit card in hand to swipe when it went out. And held it until it came back on. I didn't even get a free beer out of the deal.

huh..I did some quick research and found this:

"Having played in marching band, I am fully qualified to answer this question. You don't play in the rain if you can't see the end of your instrument. Not because the rain creates some kind of interference with your ability to play, but if it's coming down that hard, nobody's interested in hearing you play, they're all busy running for cover.

Wind instruments get plenty of water in them anyway, from spit, and many of them have valves for you to let the spit out, if their shape isn't condusive for the spit to rapidly flow out on it's own."
