I consider Benson being very similar to Wrapp in ability. I think Benson is a better perimeter shooter but Wrapp has become a pretty good dribble driver taking the ball to the hole; through contact.

This well be an interesting season; a battle of wills among the respective back courts. I am pretty sure NMSU will have the quickess guard combos in the WAC. But they will also be one of the shortest.

Finished second in Pac-12 history with a career 3.23-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio ... 2017 Picked up where he left off last season with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.2-to-1

Wrapp is pretty underrated by everyone because he isn't a scorer. He could be if he wanted to, he's just a pass first guy. Barnes did say he wanted him to score more this year though. All around good player especially on defense and passing along with good length. Finds some really pretty passes. Very Ricky Rubio esque game.

I can see him getting up to 4-1. If he averaged 3.23 in the Pac12, who is a lot more athletic, and significantly more length than the WAC and pair it up with the atrocious OOC schedule GCU put together I say it's realistic.

He's going to be playing a lot more minutes than last year and Wrapp had a better ratio compared to him last year. He will probably be good but not one of the leaders in the nation. Again for reference at 2.3 Wrapp was still top 60 in the country.

If I had to choose between Wrapp and Benson give me Wrapp. Another reason to hate GCU is both Benson's for GCU are related to Scum Belt commissioner

I really doubt that but you can dream :)

He is also not going to have that talent around him like he had at Oregon. He will get a reality check come this fall.

Very true, there is not as much defensive opposition in the WAC as in the PAC 12... but also there is not as much talent on the GCU team surrounding Benson as there was at Oregon. Threading passes to Vernon in the paint might prove to be more difficult than getting the ball to players like Brooks, Dorsey, or Boucher at Oregon. Also, keep in mind, even with all the talent at Oregon, Benson never produce more than a 3 assist per game average in any of his three season there. The other component of an assist is his teammates must make shot when fed the ball. I can see Benson being about as efficient a passer as Wrapp but not much more.
