Eli Chuha or Keonta Vernon?

Vernon

Let's take a look at stats

Game #1 GCU @NMSU

Vernon 3 points, 3 rebounds

Chuha 10 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assist

Game #2 NMSU @GCU

Vernon 6 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist

Chuha 17 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assist

Eli Chuha clearly dominated Vernon last season.

RE: WAC Player of the Year Candidates
Here is how I feel, Josh Bruan will average his 16-18 points per game but it's Eli Chuha who I believe will have a monster year possibly averaging a double double on the season.

If I had to pick one player...

It's Eli Chuha.

So a guy who won poy in conference that is 2nd to worst in the country is intriguing. But, a guy who was a 3 year starter on a Power 5 (Pac12) school who he helped lead to an Elite 8 in 16 and the Final 4 in 17. Finished second in Pac-12 history with a career 3.23-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio ... 2017 Pac-12 all-academic second team ... Picked up where he left off last season with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.2-to-1 ... Became the eighth member of Oregon’s 80-win club Feb. 16 versus Utah, and finished with 90 wins in an Oregon uniform ... is not intriguing... Makes sense 07-coffee3
Yeah. Intriguing. Did you see who was recruiting Loften? In the other hand you have a guy that averaged 5 points a game. The purple propaganda machine is hard at it acting like Benson is some big time recruit. Maybe out of high school he was but if you think he is as good as Russell you know nothing. Now you picking Vernon over Chuha proves you are a hopeless purple koolaid drinker. I will now be referring to you as purple Frank.

Your right, man. Those scrub schools like Butler & Wisconsin that were chasing Benson are trash. He can't hold a flame to a guy that dropped a deuce (literally only 2 points) on Louisville.

Benson will be good but I doubt he even averages double digits in scoring this season.

I am not debating whether Benson will be good or not... he will be. But comparing the two (Benson & Lofton) based on last season's stats or any individual game performance is useless. They both come from different situations at their respective programs. Lofton was the primary scorer at Texas Southern. Benson was a complimentary player at Oregon. Opposing defenses defended these two players differently due to the talent around them.

So your judging a player on one game? I forgot that's what GCU guys do. We will be hearing about Dwayne Russells game for the rest of the decade. Body of work bud. 5 points a game for your boy Benson.

From "we don't know until they play" to this in two days. Life comes at you fast.

Realistically I'm thinking Benson puts together 8pts/6ass/1-2TO type games all season long. Anything more will be a bonus.

6 to 1 assist to turnover ratio is not happening lol. Monte Morris lead the nation at just over 5. Brent Wrapp led the WAC with 2.3 this year for reference.
