Just looked it up.

Mike and Russell Westbrook will pull in the same money next year(Russell was the MVP).

They are the 6th highest players in the NBA next season.

Pending any contracts that may happen tomorrow.

And there are 12 players that will make more than Kevin Durant next season.

Al Horford is one of them.

So is Blake Griffin, Damien Lillard, Harden, DeRozan, Paul Millsap, former Grizzly Kyle Lowry, Lebron and Steph.

And don't forget Melo.

NBA is a crazy market place.

Maybe you haven't been following the NBA

The salaries are gonna be crazy insane by next season. It started last season with Mike and it's gonna be out of control moving forward.

No, I see the money they are getting and know that it will increase.

Just stating the obvious.

That's crazy that our society values these players more than those who keep them alive and well.

That point aside.

The top 13 list is baffling in a sense.

Durant is obviously a top 5 player who makes the 13th highest salary.

Horford, Millsap, Conley, DeRozan, and Griffin are top 10.

Checks and balances are amiss.

You explained your ignorance when you admitted being a Fakers fan.

The Griz didn't even have a squad when I became a Lakers fan.

Who were you a fan of in 80-81-82?

That's when I became a fan of the Tigers and the Lakers.

Wake me up when Mike Conley actually wins something in the NBA.

He doesn't make the Olympic squad and they don't make him an Allstar.

Why?

I guess "we" are all wrong.

I was a fan of Popeye... Popeye.

I grew up a die hard Bulls fan. When I moved back to Memphis, I maintained that fandom.

And then my hometown got a team. I traded my red for teal (at the time).

Like Memphians are supposed to do.

Not wait until the team was successful and debate whether to support based on a single player.

You're like a UTK fan.

I am a fan of Popeye as well.

In fact, once at college, we were playing pick up and Popeye threw my shot into an adjacent parking lot.

Man, he could really close out quickly.

All arms.

Hard not to appreciate the Bulls run and the best player ever to play the game.

That's a ridiculous reason to dump the team you always rooted for.

If I moved to the moon I would still be a Memphis Tigers fan.

However, I did say that if they drafted Lonzo, I was through.

So ...

I was Bulls fan because I lived in the area where the Bulls played. Becoming a fan at the start of the Jordan years is a happy coincidence. Stayed a fan post 1998; until, you know.

Quote:That's a ridiculous reason to dump the team you always rooted for.

The notion of cheering for a for profit enterprise that plays a game for entertainment is ridiculous.

That said, how do local franchises that expand or relocated to cities with great numbers of fans of the teams in that sport gain fans if people don't change who they were fans of? The whole point of supporting another city's team was because Memphis didn't have a team. Well Memphis has a team.

So ...

Being a Lakers fan is like being a Bruins fan. Of course, you'd say you've been a Tiger your whole life and are a Memphis grad, etc...

But jamammy is Memphis but jamammy isn't pulling for the home team?

Was jamammy cheering for the Moondogs too?

Pulling for the glamour franchise that has a good winning history instead of your scrappy underdog local team is like being a UTK fan.

BTW... I became a Bulls fan in 1985. I really got into it when I was truly old enough to understand the game. So I was behind the Bulls for 16 years? Memphis officially got the Grizz 16 years ago this month. So now I'm at a point I've been a Grizz fan as long as I was a Bulls fan.

The rest I agree with but Rudy was addition by subtraction. All his he did was hamper Zbo and Gasol with his ball stopping.

We will never know for sure. That team was broken up before they could make a real run at it

I think we beat the Spurs in the WCF with Rudy

And we've lost in the 1st round 3 out of 4 years since he's been gone

Since he has been gone, we went to the WCF. Next year, we got ousted in 7 games to the Thunder. The year after, we made it to the 2nd round against the Warriors. Last 2 years we know what happened. Since Rudy left, we won 3 playoff series and lost 4 (one of which was when everybody was injured).

True

Including the season he was injured, we won 4 and lost 6 overall. That's a solid run from a franchise that had never won a PO series until 2011.

There's enough track record with Rudy to indicate that good teams have usually gotten better results without him. Grizz won more PO series without him. Raptors started going to the POs after Rudy was traded.

But we can look at recent history like the year prior (where we lost in spite of home court) and make a safe conclusion that we wouldn't make it past the Clippers down 0-2. Rudy had 2 chances to win 2 separate games for us and didn't come through.

Marc isn't an offensive dynamo. He has gotten better, but then he wasn't someone to expect to dominate offensively.

Whatever Rudy Gay was doing was on Lionel Hollins. The Grizz started 24-10 with Rudy. They were 29-15 when they traded Rudy after trading the other guys. The record was slightly better after the trade, but the fact is the Grizz were limited offensively after Rudy and the other two were traded and would have been better with those guys.

It was a salary dump. Never act like it was a trade to make the team better.

The Grizz were good with Rudy. But he was hated on by certain people that hated on Conley just as much.

The rest I agree with but Rudy was addition by subtraction. All his he did was hamper Zbo and Gasol with his ball stopping.

We will never know for sure. That team was broken up before they could make a real run at it

I think we beat the Spurs in the WCF with Rudy

We never won a series with him in the lineup

He only played in 1 series though.

And we've lost in the 1st round 3 out of 4 years since he's been gone

And the one series he played in they went to 7 and should have never lost in the first place. Didn't Rudy have the flu in game 7? Zbo went 3 of 12 and Mike went 2 of 13 in that game. Rudy went 7 or 15 and 5 of 6 at the FT line.

Thabeet probably cost us a Hall of Famer.

We were down 0-2 to the Clips before coming back and going to the WCF. With Rudy, we don't make it past the 1st round.

With Rudy we aren't down 0-2. With Rudy (and Mo and Wayne) we win 60 games.
