Not true. Tyreke played 72 games in '13-'14 and 79 games in '14-'15.

I stand corrected. That's what I get for using wiki AND doing math in my head.

Great deal for the Griz.

For Tyreke?

Dude, what happened?

They gave a virtual cripple a 90 million dollar contract last season and the dude can't hold Tyreke's jock.

If healthy, Tyreke will be the best player on the team.

And it's not even close.

Mike Conley 40 million

Marc Gasol 20 million

Chandler Parsons 20 million

Tyreke Evans 3 million

And of those top 3, Gasol is the only one worth the money. (top 3, not including Tyreke).

RE: Tyreke Evans to the Grizzlies
What happened is Tyreke had 3 surgeries on the same knee, his right knee, in a 9 month period from May of '15 to February of '16. The 3rd surgery was called an osteochondral autograft transfer system (OATS) procedure, to replace cartilage in three areas of Tyreke's knee. Basically, his wear on his right knee left him with little cartilage.

So Tyreke missed the rest of the '15-'16 season after the OATS surgery, and the first 26 games of last season, so about a 10 month recovery period. He played OK last year when he got back, but was basically a 20-25 minute a game player, never played more than 30 minutes in a game last year. Got traded from NO back to Sac in the Boogie trade.

Also, Mike will make $28.5M next year, not $40M. And anyone who thinks the current Tyreke is better than Mike should probably stick to football. Tyreke is nowhere near the player that Mike is anymore, which is why he signed for one year at $3.3M.

Best case scenario is that Tyreke stays healthy, plays around 70 games leading the 2nd unit, again around 20 minutes per game. But he will need games off.

Remember when Reke almost single-handedly brought us back against Missouri attacking the basket repeatedly despite Calipari's tanking efforts ?

See, I don't like Mike Conley.

Never have.

Never will.

I was trying to become a Griz fan when they drafted Mike.

Go Lakers.

Your choice, but doesn't make it right to say Mike will make $40M next year, when in fact he will make $11.5M less than that.

Mike played with a broken face 9 days after surgery, and was the best player on the court that day in Game 2 vs. the Warriors. Not sure what else a guy has to do to earn your respect.

Dude, what are you talking about? I smoke you, you don't even bother replying to facts, and now you make stuff up.

I don't know who you think I'm supposed to be, and I don't care. Take it somewhere else. Grow up.

I made a comment.

You picked up the fight.

I stated I didn't like him.

You want me to present facts as to why I don't like him?

You responded to me.

I don't care who you are.

You "take it somewhere else and grow up."

Not even sure how that fits into any of this.

I don't like Mike Conley.

He is a career loser.

A chemistry killer.

He makes more money than a doctor, a lawyer, a nurse, a fireman, a policeman, an ambulance driver, a mayor, a governor, a teacher, a principal, a bus driver, a banker, a grocer, a farmer, a fisherman, a butcher, a clergyman, a plumber, an electrician, an HVAC guy, a face surgeon, a cook, a server, and dishwasher combined times ten.

You want me to give him a break?

LOL.

Say hello to lottery while Mike drains the last drops of his contract while not winning anything.

Reminds me of Kobe's final two years.

Just sad.

Please let it be known that I was inaccurate about Mike Conley's salary.

He will make 28 million dollars which make him almost ten times the player that Tyreke Evans is.

Correct?

Grossly inaccurate esp coz you didn't bother even looking it up. Cool with the Conley hate...you can feel however you want. It's a free country.

I like Conley. I think he is a good basketball player. He was the highest paid player in NBA history last season, he is the 2nd highest paid player in the NBA this upcoming season. Each season that salary goes up peaking at 34 million a season. That is why I say he isn't as good as his contract. He makes more money than Kevin Durant.

Hope Tyreke is great, would be great for him and the Grizz. We need someone who can create their own shot on the 2nd unit, and a healthy Tryeke fills that role.

But his repeated knee injuries probably would have ended his career 20 years ago. Hope this OATS procedure, which is basically a cartilage transfer, allows him to move pain free.

True, Conley's contract is too large. But he is an excellent player, top 30 in the league by almost any ranking.

And, if you look at it by annual salary, there are quite a few making more than his $28M next season. For a lot of reasons re the CBA, many of the top players don't want to sign 5-year contracts. Lebron only signed for 2 seasons last year. Many want to wait to get to their 10th season in the league, when their contract can go to 30% of the cap, or 35% if they qualify for the super-max. Conley's max contract was at 25%, since he was in the 6-9 year tier at the time he signed it.

He hit the jackpot at the right time.

He's at #4 currently and his ranking will keep going down as more and more players hit FA
