I sure hope not, that is how a franchise gets saddled with bad contracts for years.

Whatever the Grizz had decided to pay JMike, they need to stick with it. With Marc playing outside so much and shooting 3's now, Marc and Brandan Wright could play together. Also, could move Chandler to the 4 more.

RE: Post Draft, JMike is Next Big Decision
From JMike's agent quoted by Tillery, so probably BS:

Ronald Tillery‏ @CAGrizBeat Following

JaMychal’s agent, Michael Hodges: "I’m looking at two offer sheets & sign-and-trades. Seems to us Memphis is going in a different direction”

If Hodges is actually looking at an offer sheet, we would probably know about it.

But I am curious who sign-and-trades might include.

JMike's agent is doing agent things. If Grizz had decided to move on from JMike, they could simply pull his qualifying offer.

Probably no accident that within a couple of hours of the ZBo announcement, JMike's agent applies pressure to the Grizz. Tells me that JMike wants to stay, and agent is pulling out all the stops to get him the best deal.

Wallace or Hollinger got on the phone with Woj to correct the Tillery story:

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏Verified account @wojespn 3m3 minutes ago

Memphis made a July 1 offer to restricted free agent JaMychal Green and are now awaiting an offer sheet, league sources tell ESPN.

We're not gonna have any cap space for the next three years anyway because of Marc and Parsons so we might as well give Jmac a solid 3 year deal

If they don't re-sign JMike or do a sign and trade with someone, then I'm all aboard the rebuild train.

Had thought Atlanta might do an offer sheet for JMike, but they might be looking at UFA Nerlens Noel:

Alex Kennedy: The Hawks have shown interest in restricted free agent Nerlens Noel, according to sources. The Mavericks can match any offer sheet.

Who is going to do an offer sheet for JMike, and for how much? Teams/players can sign offer sheets when the moratorium ends tomorrow at 11:00 our time.

We just need to sit and wait with Green. I think he's back unless something crazy happens.

Wouldn't it be something if we re-sign Green for less yearly than the $12M per year that ZBo is making?

Restricted FA is such a powerful tool for the incumbent team. Of course, JMike could just sign the Qualifying Offer for 1 year, and then become and unrestricted FA next summer.

That's too risky for a guy like J-Mike. This is his chance.

We're about 90 minutes away from the end of the moratorium. Let's see if JMike's loudmouth agent can produce the offer sheets and sign-and-trades that he said he had two days ago.

Tillery is possibly the worst beat writer in the entire NBA. It's laughable how bad he is.

Laughable and sad.

He tweeted about the Jazz's statement when Hayward announced for the Celtics, implying the Grizz had no class for not doing the same with ZBo. Now the Jazz are looking at a $250K fine for not following moratorium rules. Will we get a correction from Tillery? Doubtful.

And as the moratorium ends, Grizz FO releases its ZBo statement:

Dear Z-Bo and Grizz Nation,

It’s always about basketball — but sometimes it’s about more than basketball. That’s when it’s special.

The eight years Zach spent in the mud, in Memphis, are special. They are filled with franchise-defining basketball success, but they are so clearly about more than that. Every Memphian felt it and all of us believe it.

Zach helped establish what it means to play for the Grizzlies on the court and in the community, and in doing so helped forge an identity for our City.

His numerous on the court accomplishments speak for themselves. He is our all-time leader in field goals, rebounds and of course, takedowns.

He is a proud civic leader and an extraordinary hands-on community benefactor. It is no coincidence that our collective dedication to service in our communities and our pride in Memphis surged during his time here.

The Grit for me is raising my three children to be positive every day. That is my Grit. And the Grind is getting up every day to work at a job that really doesn’t want to allow me to spend the time I need to be with my children. That is my Grind. I have to Grind for my kids.

Grit & Grind is more than a motto to us, it has become a civic code of conduct and cultural ethos. It’s the way we do things in Memphis and at the Grizzlies. The best way for the team, the organization and for the City of Memphis to honor and respect the foundation built on Zach’s broad shoulders is to continue to Grit & Grind.

To Zach — Thank you for all the joy and magical moments too numerous to count. Thank you for the energy and excitement you brought each and every night to FedExForum. Thank you for your leadership and service. Thank you for your larger than life impact and for keeping all Memphians warm. Thank you.

While there will be a time and place to recognize your lasting impact in Memphis, starting today, as stated earlier by Controlling Owner, Robert Pera, number 50 will never be worn by any other member of the Memphis Grizzlies.

From Memphian to Memphian, thank you and best of luck to you and your family.

RE: Post Draft, JMike is Next Big Decision
The Knicks make the big Restricted FA offer for Hardaway, 4 years/$71M. Hawks unlikely to match. If so, do the Hawks turn to JMike? New Hawks GM let Millsap go without an offer, says he does not want to be encumbered by long-term contracts at this point in their re-build.

Brooklyn's money is tied up for a few days with the Otto Porter UFA offer sheet. Wiz have said they will match, we'll see. If they do, Nets probably offer sheet Caldwell-Pope from the Pistons. Pistons just traded for Avery Bradly, so my guess is they let KCP go to the Nets.

Getting kind of exhausting, but it's still important. If Chandler healthy and JMike back, add in Mike and Marc and that's a strong big 4.
