Interesting how there have been more of both in Europe where firearms are illegal than in our free republic.
I have always understood the difference between mass shootings and terrorism. My question however is why the reactions aren't the same when in essence, the outcome is the same.

RE: Terrorism vs. Mass Shootings
That's been explained as well. You just choose not to acknowledge the information put before you.
The Va Tech shooter was a known psycho and nothing was done prior. Fact
Unarmed police in London are useless against predators and criminals with weapons. Fact

Its been answered multiple times. Ask a psychologist why 3,000 dying in collapsing buildings after hijacked planes crashing into them is more shocking than 3,000 dying from texting on the highway, or heart disease, or in the Iran/Iraq war.
After all, the outcome is the same in all of them.
It probably has something to do with the fact that one of them is an ongoing global conspiracy to secretly plan and commit deliberate murderous jihad and the others are lone nutjobs, random events, stupidity, and other pretty clear-cut non-mysterious things.

I think the bigger question is why does Manchester get the love but the terrorist incident in Kabul does now?

Much can be done to deter these. But since 25% of the US population is taking some type of psychotropic drug ... I am surrounded by crazies.
And considering that most of the wackjobs who commit these atrocious mass shootings are using psychotropic drugs methinks there's a pattern there that seems easily identifiable; not so with terrorists.

for the same reason why people think we can stop climate change but not illegals crossing the border...
I don't think we can stop either one. Do you?
I think we can lessen mass shootings here at home by focusing more attention on mental health care availability.

But you are still missing the point. The point is that they do exactly the same thing. Why is one more upsetting than the other?
Why are you assuming one is more upsetting than the other?

I think he is equating "more upsetting" with "gets more attention". Sometimes the same, but not always.

Tonight we stood together to honour those who lost their lives and send a clear message: Londoners will never be cowed by terrorism - Sadiq Khan
Run, hide, tell? How does he define cowed?

I don't know that we can stop either one. If we can how?
Today, 6 in Orlando, 3 in St Louis, 3 in New Orleans.... crickets. We demand that people check their social media websites and smart phones....but demanding that same scrutiny over gun records? Nah, we can't do that.
And those are just mass shootings. There were probably 100 people killed to day in murders with firearms in the USA. Add suicides and accidental deaths...and the number is much higher.
60,000 people a year die in the USA from firearms. In Australia...the number is around 25. England...around 50.

RE: Terrorism vs. Mass Shootings
Do you have a link Tom?
But as stated , the majority of those gun deaths today in the US were from suicide. Mental health is the issue not the inanimate object.
Are you just as outraged about the ones that offed themselves by hanging or pills?
Firearms and the ownership by a US citizen is in the Constitution. But some how Homosexual marriage isn't but has to be accepted in all 50 states BUT I cannot drive a car through certain states with a firearm in the vehicle without committing a felony?!?!
