Azab and Parks appear to be bigger guys who have the size to play better on ball defense in the post.
Thornton appears to be the one big we have with an offensive skill set beyond layups and dunks. He may also be the best rebounder on the team.
Offensively, our entire team appears limited, but defensively, we appear to be better equipped to guard inside than last year. Dedric, Rivers, and Rhykohk were vastly over matched against any decent post player. Dedric had the length but couldn't risk fouling. Chad was invisible on defense. Rivers was our best helpside defender, but didn't have enough weight to guard in the post. Rivers guarded Taco Fall some last season. He might be 5th or 6th in line to do so on this team.
Long story short, Parks addition at least provides some depth and versatility on our front line. At this point in the recruiting cycle, with where our program currently sits, We could have done worse.
Your NEGATIVITY....Is VERY unwelcomed at this point! We are getting bodies, as EVERY TEAM has role players! UK gets five starters that get drafted 1st round EVERY year!!! Can't win the DAYUM tourney because their role players are the absolute worst of the worst!!!!
This guy has AWESOME numbers if he also is adept at setting screens and putting his bulk on some post players tiring them out!
PLEASE GET OVER YOURSELF!!!! Log off until you watch some games and feel like the team deserves your attention instead of trying to pull us "HOPEFULS" down into your pity pond
The whole team will be role players, lol.
I'll let you go tell Mr 6'9'' 270 that he's nothing but a role player...that should be fun to watch go down.
Highlights from his Freshman season at West Plains, MO JC.
The highlight at 2:21 is the type of stuff you don't see everyday. Rewinded it several times.
yea...me too. Interesting.
I'm still wondering where we will be picked to finish in our conference.
And I'm not being sarcastic or negative..I'm just wondering, because last year when we had the Lawsons and Markell, we were picked 5th.

I'd say 7th. It's gonna be a tough year. I'm looking forward to it though. I think the future is bright. Seriously, I do.
I really like the way the staff is recruiting now. Someone lit a fire under Tubbys ass and he's working hard. I really think we'll have a strong 2018 class.

I'm glad we're talking about multiple bigs instead of 3 with 8 guards.

Are you forgetting they've added Wichita, or is that not official yet? If it is, that automatically puts us one rung lower.

This guys stats are a bit underwhelming, but it is in only 19 minutes. Then again, there was probably a reason he was only playing 19 mpg. Just like all the other guys, we'll see when they hit the court.
That said, his JuCo has a logo that looks a whole lot like the Memphis Grizzlies / Southmen logo of old, so that's kinda cool.
No, they are just getting who they can get which is sad.
Since you obviously don't support the team or the coaching staff, why in the hell are you so worried about who this staff recruits? The main ones who sit on their asses and don't buy season tickets complain the most and the loudest.
I remember your call in's to the post game show and I remember that you did not support the coaching staff at that time. Does that mean you did not support the team nor were you a fan? What is good for the goose...
Wrong caller, I've supported this coaching staff from day one.
