acc at 20 with uconn, wvu, Texas, x, x could work at 2 divisions of 10.

On the other hand, sometimes things move glacially. Sometimes people in charge just like to sit on things for a while, even if the move seems obvious to everyone else.

Hey, I have my eye on a new Mercedes, I figure I can get the dealer to knock 50% off the MSRP, right? Yah never know!

There is no "on the other hand", IMO. Either the numbers would work or they don't. In this case, it's pretty clear they don't. If they did, new teams would have been included when the ACC reworked its deal, just last year. Wishing otherwise won't change that fact, IMO.

RE: Rumor-UConn and Cincy to ACC in 2018?
Way more realistic scenario in my mind:
*The ACC offers TX a ND-style deal at the end of the GoR - ESPN agrees to pay more for TX to park their games under an ACC banner than a Big XII banner because the ACC is a safer investment due to a history of being more reliable/loyal to media partners (see ACC treatment of Raycom vs ESPN & Fox threatening to sue the B12)
**The B12 and Pac make offers, and TX will choose whatever one fits their interest best
***My guess is that Texas would take the ACC offer, but who knows

ACC schools like Pitt and UL can schedule UC on a regular basis. ESPN will own the rights to all the games, w/ the ones @AAC locations being really cheap.

ACC schools like BC and SU can schedule UConn on a regular basis. ESPN will own the rights to all the games, w/ the ones @AAC locations being really cheap.

The ACC, ESPN, Texas don't lose and may come out ahead. UC and UConn stay the same.

I guess that means the ACC will allow Texas to keep all revenue from the LHN, and perhaps even show some ACC contests in Austin on the network, with again Texas keeping all that revenue to themselves.

Too much politics. Too much human emotional decision making, wanting to surprise the potential of other programs due to fear of competition, old grudges, etc.

I think that the Big Ten should expand this month and take both Cincy and UConn.

That should just naturally happen, it makes so much common sense.

I'd take UConn in a second! Kick Indy over to the West. Provides another easy football win to the East powers, while improving basketball.

Win-win-win-win, just like Maryland, in those respects.

Big 10 will only take AAU schools (yes we know Nebraska duped them)

The only AAU schools left in B10 footprint are Kansas, Iowa State and Mizzou

I have always thought the B10 should grab Kansas and then try to lure Mizzou out of the SEC - if not, just add Iowa State (who has a rivalry with KS as well) and call it 16

True, but UConn isn't hugely off. In fact, it does similar research as some current AAU schools ... Iowa St and Missouri, chiefly.

And it has a Med school/health science research center in Hartford.

That makes one of us. The fact that it is not me makes me happy. :)

Then why doesn't the BiG pull the trigger? As Terry indicated, if it makes so much sense, why don't they just do it?

And like I said, if it were up to me -- I'd do it. Adds another hockey school, too. Gets the Big Ten into New England.

I think everyone on these boards is afflicted with the "since I'm right" malady, LOL! Something we all have in common!

I'm on board with adding UConn and WVU. Also add ISU and KU in the west.

No to WV. Because of research, and low state population.

Iowa St yes.

What WVU lacks in research and population, it more than makes up in longstanding football rivalries against Penn State, Maryland and Rutgers and a new rivalry against UConn. Adding UConn/WVU (or an alternative eastern school) would free up OSU, Indiana, MSU and Michigan to play the western schools in football on a more regular basis.
