It's nice to rub it on BEH. Come on! He was making threads about the program, that we couldn't beat Tulane, that there needs to be a vote of no confidence on Lebo (like we have any say). Where have you been?

Cheers!

You are free to have your fun. Tulane was ECU's only road win this year. I had every right to assume they'd come out on the other side of that nailbiter.

The game before it, UCF was a hair away from losing to ECU. You were sweating the game I know it...ECU is a little better than you give it credit for being.

Cheers!

UCF isn't at the point in Dawkins tenure to count any road win as a gimme.

There isn't a lot of energy in Minges. These games we're talking about (UCF and UConn) were very sloppy, ugly, games. Those kinds of games often happen on the road, when you have programs that don't have a strong identity established.

ECU played a terrible OOC schedule like usual. But 2 of your 3 favorite teams played lousy OOC schedules too. (Houston and UCF) Neither have significant wins and the Coogs lost to Harvard and UCF lost to Penn. Your third favorite team in the AAC (Temple) has a losing record. ECU is not too far off your 3 favorite teams this year.

Cheers!

ECU's SOS Rank is 180th
Houston's SOS Rank is 81st
UCF's SOS Rank is 103rd
Temple's SOS Rank is 68th

UCF just beat #15 Cincinnati. Houston is #52 RPI. Temple beat 2 ranked programs, #19 West Virginia and #25 Florida State.

ECU>Temple and UConn

The odd circumstances are this only makes Lebo look worse.

Even though Temple and UConn are having uncharacteristically bad years (teetering on the other side of .500), does ECU hand over the reigns to Perry now? Or do they make Perry have to interview along with more qualified candidates?

Or go back to Lebo? 03-nutkick

Can Perry recruit? Right now, ECU doesn't recruit well enough to play their way out of the worst teams in the conference. ECU is still a bottom 3 program, and isn't even close (at least to RPI standards) to joining the next group. The other 2 programs in that group (Tulane and USF) have already started the rebuild by firing their failed coaches.

Lebo would be going on year 8.

You need to adjust that, "bottom 4". Temple is with us. 04-cheers

The AAC has 3 sub 200 RPI teams

ECU - 219
Tulane - 289
USF - 305

Temple's RPI is 122. Almost 100 spots difference with ECU. It may take awhile for ECU to close that gap.

I didn't know that winning 5 games against HBCU's counts as much as beating #25 Florida State and #17 West Virginia... 04-cheers

I have nothing but respect for UCONN's basketball program. I realize that I will never see ECU reach the same level in my lifetime. When I found out we were joining the AAC, my biggest talking point to others was "Can you imagine playing UCONN in Greenville?!?!"

It was an honor then, and it still is.

Good game. It took a senior on senior night having an ungodly good game to beat you. This is one folks in Greenville will remember a long time, because I doubt it happens again anytime soon.

I'm not sure I get your point. You're comparing a 19-10 UCF team with quality wins (just took down #15 Cincinnati) to a 14-16 ECU team (219 RPI and 179 SOS Rk) with no quality wins. UCF swept the series with ECU.
Considering this is a transition year for Johnny Dawkins - playing with a depleted roster - what more do you think he should have done?

Sad. this is the worst team UConn has had in as long as I can remember. ECU fans act like we won the Super Bowl. That said, I'd fire Lebo at the end of the season and might take a gamble on this assistant. He at least seems to have some passion.

ECU has a .467 winning percentage with a schedule full of dregs.

ECU is the only AAC program to lose to USF.

ECU has an RPI in the 200s.

I'm all for enthusiasm after winning a game against an under .500 UConn team but that program is a dumpster fire.

Is it not?

No BEH, it's a dumpster fire. I'd take a chance on a short contract with Perry. Let him have a season or 2. It's clear that the kids like to give him effort at least. That's a lot more than could be said for Lebo.

Hurts doesn't it? The nightmare is reality. You search and search for data, excuses, etc but the burn is still there. Keep you head up buttercup.

I don't see how they can replace Perry with Lebo at this point.

That would absolutely be a letdown.

Perry's stint as HC at Georgia State wasn't stellar by any means but its obvious he gets more out of that team than Lebo does.

Lebo's record is worse because its over 2 decades, with no NCAA tournaments.
