[second attempt at posting this]

And......Burroughs-Cook hits a 3 at the halftime buzzer to tie it at 31.

London also playing well for the Mocs - on both ends.

Magee and Garcia now 1/6 total from the field, and 1/5 from 3.

Pegram playing well inside for the Terriers and Hoover is 3/5 to lead their scoring with 9.

[Second half has now started and so the above info is slightly behind the times.]

Wofford wins. The Chattanooga collapse is one of worst I've ever seen, especially with all the talent on that team.

Magee, Garcia, and Hoover all put the pedal to the metal after halftime, and as a team they shot 57% from 3 in the second half.

McLean played 36 min, played great, and led them with 18 and 9, with 8 assists. No other Moc had more than 3 boards, nor more than 3 assists.

McSmall sold his soul to have a chance to win by letting McLame play. Chattanooga still lost. Lost five in a row to end the year. Sad!

I can't remember a team with as much talent and experience as Chatt just collapsing like this. Just mind boggling.

"Books will be written" - and I only say that half-jokingly.

It appears to me that the OVC got better TV deals than the SoCon. I hope they can work out something next year. I think the conference deserves it.

Sibley looked like POY the first half; less so the second, but he still poured in 30. Both teams shot poorly overall, tho. Furple wins the bad-shooting contest, however, with only 30%, both in total, and from 3. In the second half they only shot 24%.

RE: Official SoCon Tournament Thread (non-ETSU games)
Combined with ETSU beating Mercer, this is a very good thing for the Bucs. I want to see ETSU go 3-0, but if worst comes to worst, having Furman knocked out right out of the gates significantly increases the odds that if need be ETSU would still having the option of the NIT automatic bid. Whichever of the three co-champ teams that advance the furthest without winning out get the auto bid.

Is this really how it works? Just asking since there has been a lot of talk on the other team's message boards about this and seems no one has a good answer.

From what I've seen here, that's what it looks like. Regardless, Furman is done so that's one less obstacle to deal with. That and and with 11 losses, there's virtually no chance of them picking up an NIT at large bid either.

Samford is not a team to ignore or they will hurt you, but having Furman go 1 and done while ETSU moves on is definitely a good thing.

Good guard play wins tournaments. The Wofford/UNC-g game will be a great matchup.

So if UNCG loses and we win today, we get the auto bid to the NIT even if we lose in the finals, right? What happens if we both make it to the finals?

Saw this on Twitter:
"If UNCG or ETSU lose today, the one who wins clinches at least NIT bid. Both lose, UNCG clinches an NIT. Both win, no SoCon autobid to NIT."

RE: Official SoCon Tournament Thread (non-ETSU games)
Interesting. So if both UNCG and ETSU get to the championship game, it's either a trip to the NCAA tourney (for the winner of course) or hope for an NIT at large bid (for the loser). Even more reason to pull for Wofford then.

I think we get an at large bid to NIT if we win today, maybe even if we lose and UNCG wins the tournament.
