"Mesa CC"
For those not familiar with Phoenix, Tempe (Arizona State) and Mesa are neighboring cities to the East. Essentially suburbs along with uber rich, Scottsdale.
So did he go juco because of eligibility issues or is he using juco as a path to P5 glory?
That is a legitimate question that we can't answer without RELIABLE information.
Either are possible.
I have to believe he didn't qualify. Steve, since he signed a LOI, how does he get out of it to play this year: 1) EMU releases him from LOI or 2) If he didn't qualify academically, his only option is JUCO.
Either way, I wish him much success in life. If the reason is number 2 above, I am sure CC is calling him weekly to maintain that relationship. It's too fricking hot to play football in Arizona!!!?

Mesa CC's DLC/STC died because of a bar fight this past weekend.

Guarantee he didn't qualify. Requirements got tougher last year. He's gone and will not be coming back to EMU, time to move on.
Much more interested in his replacement now.........Aaron Jackson from Cass Tech.

????????????
I'm about >95% certain that he wasn't a qualifier and opted to stay at EMU rather than go JUCO.
Remember, if he went JUCO, he'd have to get his degree and would most likely expend two years of eligibility.
And if he went JUCO, played two years and got his degree, he most likely would not be a MAC recruit.
I like the way this one played out. IF he can get a degree in 4 years, he can claim his 4th year of athletic eligibility.
