I'd be fine with it. But there are plenty of others who criticize TK's recruiting ability. And there are a handful of those same people who want him to recruit lil' Lauf...even though he's not being recruited by other D1 schools.
So they complain when he recruits guys who have other D1 offers but don't end up All-MAC, yet they want him to recruit someone who doesn't have D1 offers.
You're missing the boat on this one Midnight, have him walk on and if good enough, offer him a DI scholarship!
Isn't Jordan going to be a grad assistant next year? That could convince his brother to walk-on for one season if that's his best offer. My point has always been, don't under estimate a kid who is a two-sport all-stater who is a proven 3-point shooter. We couldn't use someone to come off the bench a few times a game and hit some threes?
If a walk-on steps in and sees minutes in his Freshman year, something is wrong.
Well, isn't something wrong?

It's not nearly as bad as some of you think it is.

RE: Lauf's Brother Scores 50
If a guy has that kind of hops at 6'1" and is a solid 3-point shooter, how is it a gamble to go after him - unless of course he can't dribble or play defense.
You know you will have the guy for 4 years and he can keep developing as a shooter and player. Maybe he has knee issues like his bother? If his grades are good, he is a team player, and everything else makes sense - I'd rather see him get the nod than some guy who comes in, doesn't play as a freshman and then bails.

Defense: you meet many soccer guys bad with their positioning? Is there a rule, have to dribble with the hands? Seems a violation of ADA.

I'm not saying whether or not I think he should receive an offer, but assuming he's a good student, I wouldn't consider it a wasted scholarship if we were the only Div 1 school to offer him.

Can you think of even one successful collegian to ever have just one D1 offer in any sport?

If his last name wasn't Lauf, would you still want UT to offer him a scholarship?

Sure. His brother's name wasn't LAUF when he was in high school, it was just Lauf, and we offered him. Local kid who is athletic and a huge scorer in two different sports? Add the fact that this kid IS named Lauf and "Lauf" means something now and he's even more worth the risk. Similar upbringing, genes, etc. For me the caveat is only if we get a big first.

Actually I'm more afraid that if we don't get him, he'll end up at Miami and kill us for the next four years

I don't have any problem with UT recruiting him. Jordan was such an important part of our team for the last 4 years and having another player like him would be awesome. I would like to know why Brett doesn't have any D1 offers, though.

Maybe because he averaged like 12ppg as a junior on a totally different type of team.
