The MAC adds UMass, UConn, Temple, and Dayton.
The newbies bring enough basketball prowess to make it a two bid league. Dayton could either be a non-football add offset by adding Army as a football only or the Flyers could be pushed to invest in FBS football.
If including Dayton in the mix is a hang up perhaps there's another program out there that could be a steady BB program but also have the finances to play FBS.
How about a 16/16 hybrid for the MAC with 12 all sport members.
FB-Only
Temple
UConn
Navy
Old Dominion
Oly-Only
Milwaukee
IL-Chicago
Illinois State
Missouri State
Become the ultimate non-P5 conference.

Step1: Wichita State goes to the AAC, damaging the MVC and making it a less attractive place for Missouri State.
Step2: The MAC invites Missouri St, Illinois St, IL-Chicago and Milwaukee as non-FB members. Give the MAC 16 in basketball and more inventory for Olympic sports. Those schools then have a more secure future as a members of a G5 conference.
Try to make the MAC into more of a Chicago based conference for basketball recruiting. Become the A10 of the Midwest.
Delusional.

No clue about Stony Brook, I suppose it's possible, but ABSOLUTELY no way about Richmond or VCU.
Richmond has never shown a lick of interest in moving to FBS and they can't expand their FCS-capacity stadium without angering the neighborhoods around them. They'd be more likely to join the Patriot in all sports or the Patriot in football and the Big East in everything else. VCU is not leaving the A-10 unless it's for a better basketball conference, and the MAC isn't. Hell, they might not leave for the AAC. The Big East is the only option that likely interests them, at least presuming the A-10 doesn't fall apart, in which case the AAC becomes more attractive.
Not sure who your source is but I'm guessing he or she is lying on the ground surrounded by bottles that say XXX on them.
It was around the time that VCU was thinking about buying the city's stadium for football and all that. At the time, they were thinking of adding football. The MAC at the time wanted to expand with some football and some good basketball schools to try and get a multi-bid league. VCU could have helped in that idea. It might have gotten Temple and UMass. all in as well.
I went to VCU and know people at VCU. There has never been serious discussion about football, at least not recently. They don't have the money. They wanted to buy City Stadium, but the AD at the time only hinted at the possibility, and that was in 2011. Richmond recently signed a long-term least for the stadium with the Kickers, a USL soccer club that will make improvements over the next 30 years.
As much as I'd like them to add football, VCU won't do it in my lifetime.

Yeah Missouri State was probably a stretch geographically.
I'd like to see Illinois St, Milwaukee and IL-Chicago as non-FB adds. Good academic schools to go along with regional to the Chicago market.
Then move the MAC basketball tournament to Chicago and play it a week before the B1G tournament. Double down on Chicago.
Weakened Horizon and MVC will still survive but the Summit might not having to give a few schools to both.

What do you smoke on a daily basis to come up with this delusional crap?
Are you afraid that your team will lose to those schools?
No..... Toledo has beaten Eastern Washington in the past. I just want to know what you smoke to come up with that crap?

Yes, it's a very difficult place to play.
It's a large dome, completely different in design than the Idaho/Idaho St style of buildings.
And the refs were very fair, as they have been in every playoff game in Fargo this year and the last five seasons.
Trust me, the dome is small, basically the size of a big basketball arena. Yes, they did spend a few extra bucks on a nice facade to create the illusion that you are going to a real dome, but peak behind it and you can see it's still shaped like a long airplane hangar.
But what's worse, the refereeing was totally biased in favor of NDSU. I was rooting for the Bison but eventually was appalled by it. Can only imagine what it was like for opposing playoff teams between 2011-2015.
A great testament to JMU that they overcame those obstacles.

Last year's officiating during the NDSU games was equally as frustrating to watch.

RE: North Dakota State's 5-year run is over
NDSU had a good run, and I am sure that they will continue to be an FCS playoff competitor for years to come. It is just really nice to see two fresh teams in the title game with a new name to be added to the list of champions post-game.

If Youngstown State wins the whole thing? That would make MVFC 6 in a row champs.

Both YSU and JMU have won FCS before, so no first time winner.

His point is that we'll be seeing a team other than NDSU win it all for first time in over half a decade.
