Any 'read' on the status of our RBs for Tuesday and a bowl game 4 weeks/30 days afterwards?
[One thing which makes bowl games fun is that players usually get 30 days after the end of the season to heal. Thirty days heals a lot of sprained ankles, concussions, sore backs, etc.]
Just my guess........ Don't think Turner is something major (surgery related) but not sure they risk his long term health bringing him back late.
Eriksen played great, but we should just expect that he'll be nicked up his entire career because of the way he runs, and his injury history. Probably see him back next week, just looked like he had a slight ankle sprain at one point, followed by a tender shoulder after he landed on it late.
Parker getting only 1 carry in each of the last 2 games is kind of stupid after burning the kids redshirt. Yes he fumbled on his first carry the last game, but so did Diuly, and he's continued to play. Then he gets a single carry in this game, before they plug Banham in there. Talk about messing with a kids head. Love Banham, he's a tough, consistent little player, but the speed and explosiveness just isn't there. Parker has both those things and these last 3 games would have been the perfect opportunity to see how he might fit in the plans for next year. As it stands, he probably disappears behind Vann, Turner, and Eriksen next year, and they burned his redshirt for about 5 or 6 worthless carries.
Trying to stay positive, but CMU is now a must win in my eyes. Totally agree with TheCrumb and KPJ that this team just doesn't know how to win, after being mentally abused for so long. That game was a complete mental meltdown from top to bottom.
The crazy thing was, I was finally ready to buy into Roback, and the team, after that first half. The second half confirmed our worst fears.
We have bounced back all year, so I'll assume we'll do the same next week.
