Just getting rid of CARB regulations would be an economic boom for every business in America that had to follow their foolish regulations. It costs our company close to 10 grand per year in lab testing costs.

I know this conservative would just LOVE for (as the tv program calls it) Californication) to leave the union. I'm tingly with expectation. Yes, yes, do go, please. Oh pretty please. A safe space for all the nut jobs our country has right now.

Where can I sign your petition?

No need. Just make it doubly hard for them to immigrate to OUR united states. They can take Oregon and Washington.

Rocky Mountains make a pretty good wall...that would work.

We won't have to worry about them chumming up to Russia. Remember Angry Tom said Putin wanted them in prisons.

Please go, pretty please and take Fit with you.

California actually has a legitimate argument for secession. They send 50% more to DC than they get back. Their votes count 1/4 of Wyoming's.

With the companies that would leave Cali in that event, probably not so much.

There is a movement in Oregon to get it on the next ballot. CA, OR, WA, and NV could form their own country

GTS we need a country realignment forum ASAP!!!

None of those other states wants to play the little brother role to California. Interesting dynamics out here.

These goobers should read the Texas v. White decision penned by Supreme Court Chief Justice Salmon P. Chase.

Who cares. We'd be more united, and as a result, stronger overall.

There you go. Red-US doesn't want Cali and Cali doesn't want Red-US. This is going to happen. What is the combined GDP of the Northeast, I wonder? Probably close to that of California. The US is going to be so different without NYC and Boston.

I wonder if we'd really lose ALL that GDP. California would still need to sell its foods and much of the GDP from farming is generated away from the farm. I know there's much more to Cali than farming, but that's a substantial contributor. Lots of other industries are similar.

Having said that, the only parts of Cali that are 'strong left' are the coastal areas. MOST of the state (by area) is pretty conservative. Trump won near half the counties and was competitive in many others... but he lost LA and San Fran and their huge populations by like 80%/12%

If I remember correctly, California is like the major significant source of several types of fruit and vegetables, to the US.

Whereas I assume every other state (except maybe Florida?) the dominate commodity crops are soybeans and/or corn.

This is: I think soybeans and corn are much easier to make last a while, than fruit and vegetables. Say, for example, if you wanted to ship them to China, Europe, etc.

Cali is #1 for fruits (especially grapes), nuts (especially almonds and pistachios), milk and I believe Poultry. Yes, the land of fruits and nuts.

Much of it is exported though as it doesn't meet our own standards. You can only make so much dog food
