I hate to be the pessimist, but I have a feeling we will have another year of TT

RE: Tuberville SUCKS FIRE TUBERVILLE
One more year of TT just does not make sense for many reasons. If it is about the money, the buyout just drops from $1.5M to $1M. $500K is nothing in the grand scheme of things./ Even if you are cash tight the $1.5M buyout is not all due at once, it can be staggered out in payments over years (ie. Tubs can get $250K a year over 6 years/$300K over 5-- however you can structure it).

RE: Tuberville SUCKS FIRE TUBERVILLE
Purdue (7) has gone quiet after a lot of conjecture about a quick move following the end of its season Saturday. One report said that Fleck would be named soon as coach of the Boilermakers, but sources told Yahoo Sports Saturday that was inaccurate – he isn’t talking to anyone until after the MAC championship game. It will be interesting to see whether Purdue has competition for Fleck, and from whom.
Western Kentucky coach Jeff Brohm would be in the same no-contact zone as Fleck – he has a game Saturday, the Conference USA championship against Louisiana Tech (coached by Skip Holtz, who has rebuilt his record after being fired at South Florida and could be a candidate himself).
Purdue seemingly could have Les Miles right now. The fact that it does not indicates that either the school or Miles has someone it likes more. Others with Purdue ties have been interviewed for the job, but like Miles would seemingly be in position to be hired by now if they were the choice.
At Cincinnati (8) there could be a $900,000 reason why Tommy Tuberville hasn’t yet been pushed into retirement. A contract extension he agreed to earlier this year calls for a $2.4 million buyout before Dec. 7. On that date, the buyout drops to $1.5 million. At a non-power-five school, that’s not chump change.
A Dec. 7 timetable would suit Brohm, who seems like an ideal fit at Cincinnati: the Louisville native knows the area, is 29-10 overall, has won consecutive C-USA division titles and his offenses have flourished with two different quarterbacks – Brandon Doughty for two years, and now the formerly pedestrian Mike White.

Oh but they are that stupid. It should come as no shock to anyone when TT is retained after 12/8. Bohn doesn't have the testicular fortitude (or brain function) to do what's right.

^^ If Tubs is retained the problem is deeper than Bohn. If retained it means the Board of Trustees is not minding the store or has given up on being competitive in football.

Very true... And a very scary thought.
But I think it's reality

After a stadium renovation I sure hope not.
I'm optimistic at least preliminary discussions with candidates are happening and Dec 8th we'll see movement.

I've seen a lot of twitter activity regarding new offers from the coaching staff. I'm not sure if it's any more than previous years - maybe someone else can chime in on that. To me, it says one of two things:
1) The coaching staff doesn't know yet and are recruiting their @$$3$ off in the hope that it will buy them another year, or -
2) They already know they're coming back

Or,
3) The coaching staff knows if will look better when they interview for their next job if they worked hard right up until the end. Plus, they might be able to bring a recruit or two to a new job.

I think that number one is partly correct. There have been reports that administrators are split on a decision. The staff may be busting butt to convince them of their hard work. Honestly, the whole atmosphere has changed. If you listen closely to the commentators of the UC/Tulsa game, they laid out the case for keeping TT. Young class, proven track record, etc. You have to wonder if some UC people are in the commentators ear. I hate to say it because, he is terrible and not working out here.

I can see this, too.
Didn't Bohn say he was going to meet with TT in the days after the Tulsa game to reassess? If we've not heard anything and TT stated prior to the game that everyone had flights booked for Sunday, at least Bohn hasn't come out and affirmed Tubs for another year. That has to be a good sign.

If they will try to convince the new coach to keep them on staff. Other than Tuberville, the past coaches here always kept someone from the previous regime.

What were you listening to? Every commentator I heard after the game ( Mo Egger, Dan Hoard, and Jim Kelly) on the post game said a coaching change was needed.

Really? I saw Christian Fauria taking a huge crap on Tuberville. Anyway, I'd put more credence in what the local guys say than National TV studio jocks.
