RE: Game Week: Miami
Dear Friends,
I was going to save this when we arrived at the end of the season, because I didn't want the trolls to laugh at what seems small.
At the Wyoming coaches luncheon, Athletic Director Lyke said, that at this point in the season Eastern had sold 531 season tickets. She continued that the 2015 season only had 400 season ticket holders. That was a great increase in her mind, and if Eastern continues to have a good season record, that should jump dramatically for the 2017 season.

Idiotic if they were to raise them a penny. Drop them out of helicopters all over Ypsi if that's what it takes to get people in the stadium. The importance of bodies in the stands, far outweighs the miniscule extra revenue generated by ticket price increases. Would be a terrible look for a program with our history of losing and fan apathy. Thousands of extra fans means more beer, food, EMU t-shirt/hat/etc. sales as well.

Amen!!
Get people in the stadium and let them spend $10, 15, 20 on hot dogs, beer, etc.
If you charge someone $25 for a ticket, they might not buy any concessions.
If you charge someone $10 for a ticket, they might spend $15 on concessions...
Quite frankly, I'd rather have a ten buck ticket plus a bunch of food, drink, etc.
Better experience for the fans yet the school still does well.

I agree on all of these thoughts. At worst, keep the price the same but offer more packages for families. $40 for 4 tickets seems like a good deal to me.

Dear Friends,
Where did the fact of a raise in the ticket prices come from? I have not heard any news to that effect. I'm sure the reserved ticket price will continue to be $20. As someone said on another thread, let's pump the brakes in this discussion.

RE: Game Week: Miami
I just took a peek at the Miami message board and found their prediction thread. They seem to think our defense is still a work in progress because we've allowed 31 ppg. Apparently the fact we've played WMU, UT, and Mizzou has been lost on them. Not surprising that many of them are predicting a win for their team but several are predicting that they'll put up over 30 pts and a few even have them at over 40. Note: Miami has the 11th best scoring offense in the MAC!!! I'm seriously hoping that EMU shuts them down to 14 pts max.

Alumni association offers a $45 deal: 4 tix, 4 drinks, 4 hot dogs, and parking. Should be advertised HEAVILY.

I would suspect our defense will be 'extra' aggressive against Miami. If we don't turn the ball over, and our special teams are solid, I wouldn't be surprised at all if we hold them below 14.
The defensive growth has come along just as planned. Injuries have also stayed to a minimum. The DB youth was the biggest concern, and every game has given them more experience, and confidence. It's quite amazing just how many quality reps our true freshmen DB's (including Moody) have seen this year. I think overall they've done a great job.
Against the Toledo's and Western's of the world we've played quite soft coverage, primarily because of our youth, but also the quality and experience of those opponents. I would suspect we tighten that coverage up against Miami, possibly blitz a bit more, and turn O'Connor/Crosby/Harris loose a little bit. Would be disappointed if we don't end up with 4-6 sacks.
Let them underestimate us......like everyone else. The shock on their faces, and whining fans, is always the best revenge.

Game Day.
And if anyone needs motivation to come out to the game the weather in 48197 will be similar to the weather in So. Cal.:
The forecasted highs are 75 (L.A.) and 72 (Ypsilanti).

Nope - Miami is a much improved team since getting a quarterback back from injury and switching to a better punter 3 games ago.
You would have won during the first 6 games of the season.

Maybe - just goes to show the importance of the QB position - how this team lost it's first six games - amazing.
As for us - worst game this season - reversion to last year's team. Miami outplayed us and we were outcoached too. It was not as close as the score indicated.
